Evening all. I have tried my hardest today, but you can't do everything so it has been a good survey day, but less time on DY today. So hard to keep all the plates spinning at once.
- Shop and scan - £1.10
- mysurv - 50 point survey, now 225
- survey n/work - 80p
- OP - 35p - what is going on there?
- YouGv - 50p, now £28.25
- Cr0wdology - 40p, now at 72p/£4 payout
- Max1mil3s - 50 points
- ordered £80 of approved food to take advantage of the free delivery weekend before all the good stuff was bought. No idea where i will put it, but it will all work out
- 3 washloads - 2 dried out on line, one stuck on indoor airer
- DHs mobile bill was £8 cheaper so i sent that as an OP
- My last ever student loan payment went out today. More to OP with next month.

Just checked my email inbox and there was £20 in codes for amazon, and £3 in my paypal, so i just ordered some easter presents and some birthday stuff to put away for christmas for my littlies and my friends two as i had £35 in credit. I am going to move the money from the presents savings account and pay this off the mortgage to keep me going.
Woohoo. That boosts Marchs totals nicely. Now if only OP would get that money in my bank account too.0 -
Morning All:D
This week I have:- Done a full week at work after loosing 3 days last week for my illness and DS illness and not getting paid for it
- Earned £56 interest on savings
- Got paid £220 bonus from old job
- Found out pay rise in new job is £1000 :T which is going to increase my op dd by £50 every month
- Withdrew final £30 of ebay earnings from paypal
- Fed the mortgage pig. Does anyone else break into a £5 or even a £1 coin to get change to feed their change pots?:o
- Applied for new cash ISA and savings accounts to earn some extra interest this year
- Meal plan and shopping list done for next week. Just need to stick to it now:cool:
- Planning on cooking a gammon joint that's a couple of days out of date
Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Today for me:
* completed my RM posting data entry
* Marked my amazon sale as despatched and ordered my £2.60 payment. Lucky I had stamps from the RM survey as the book cost more than £2.60 to post! I sent it first class to be kind to the buyer, and because it was day 2 before I could despatch it. Actual cost to me was about 15p cash, once I had used my stamps. Book was a Christmas gift to DH that he'd read and wouldn't read again so, not a bad conversion. Just need to wait for the £2.60 to hit the account so it can go to the virtual OP pot.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Morning everyone. So far today I have -
- Been to town early, grabbed a free parking space, and banked £16 in loose change
- Filled up the car at Sainsburys, got the Nectar points and used Nectar credit card for more points
- Topped up tyres with air for more economical driving
- Received my £20 in Sainsburys vouchers from Myvoice
- Had haircut by the junior stylist for a few quid cheaper than normal. I don't think she's done a bad job really, what do people think...?#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -

Last year I thought I could afford £2k and I OP'd by £3k. This year I thought I would try for £6k and I'm already 2/3rd of way to achieving that. Okay I have smaller targets......but the point is....more is possible than you would think possible. Infact I don't know what on earth I'm going on about - you've already said you are doing everything you can to save.

I Know what you mean... from my wise calculations, I was supposed to have OPd a lot less than I actually have. The plan was to be mortgage free in 3 years, I then thought I was going mad and it was never going to happen but really I may not be that far off.
Gave up smoking 9 months ago (which is STILL hard going) and whilst I am sure it has helped to 'find' more money, I have developed a new addiction (polos... 3 packs a day...) and eat more so...
Plan for today:
* going to see 'new man in my life' to split up with him... not obvious why that is MSE but I have been spending too much whilst seeing him so it will somehow help... not reason why I am splitting up from him though lol!
* should be a NSD as the wine required to recover from this afternoon's painful conversation was a present from a friend and is already chilling in the fridge...
* currently mending some leggings and socks with holes in so I dont have to buy some new ones (although I somehow ripped the bottom off one pair whilst at work - and didnt realise... - so that one may become a dusting cloth...)
* done my TAB scratch card and Tiki and Mystic Meg thinggies
* finished some pasta leftovers for breakfast
On the other end, received a letter saying no bonus as the company didn't do very well this year... no comment, they could have done better but one person is spoiling it for everyone and is still employed
Hope you are all doing well in the sunshine!0 -
linz, if that's what it is now, i dread to think what it looked like before
Done: Shopping for the week, cheap, £25 should keep us going.
Made soup for the week, a serious vat, quite possibly 4 meals in there, and it smells great.
Checked OP, nothing new
Not a bad day, especially as I'm aiming to have 5 NSD in a row from now until Thursday (When we get paid).
RejoiceFeb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045
Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 20370 -
Hope you've all had a great week!
It's hard to think back over it all, but here are a few ways I've saved:
-Sold a handbag on Ebay (it was an impulse buy on my part a couple of months ago, at least I have recouped what I spent)
-Listed a dress on ebay that I bought recently for a dress-up day at work and won't wear again.
-Did 2 tutoring sessions this week, £45 total. Plus the little boy (age 6) who came today held out a penny for me that he'd noticed on our front step, bless him!
-Babysitting tonight, will earn approx £25
-Restrained myself so I didn't buy a book I wanted for £18 (the author is coming to my local library today and doing free signings for it), instead have reserved it from the library for free.
-Yesterday I went on a course for work in the town centre and instead of wasting £3.50 on car park+petrol or similar on bus fares I walked there and back (45 mins each way!)
-Renewed house insurance yesterday, £1.75 Quidco for going via Go Compare but in the end renewed with existing insurer as best deal by far.
-Bought 2 nice SoulCal polo shirts to give as gifts, 1 for DH and other for his brother, it was £12.99 for both delivered. Thanks to the person who posted about them reduced in Republica on another board.
-Updating my tax spreadsheets and receipts for my self- employed work- it will save in the long run if I'm organised to claim for all I can and offset it against tax that I have to pay.
-All darks are hanging out on washing line, whites will be done tomorrow on line as long as it stays mild and dry.
I haven't been totally angelic, though, here are my slip-ups:
-Wasting far too much on food- bought a lunch at work for £3.17 last week and have pre-booked one for this week. I am such a sucker when I see chocolate crunch and sticky toffee pudding on the menu!! Plus buying too much chocolate etc. Stop it, Summerday!
-Yesterday bought 2 tops for myself from LaRedoute- they'd sent me a 25% off code in post with free del so I had a look at website 'just to look', but found 2 nice tops and ordered them for £13.50. Not bad, I know, but I need to be careful not to keep spending on clothes as I don't really need any more.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0
