  • Mornin all!
    In the last few days I have:
    *Transfered all savings (bathroom and holiday fund) into different bank account so it doesnt keep showing up when I log onto my current account ( too easy to "borrow" from then!!)
    *Opened up a new saver for car/presents/holidays and will add to this monthly (again in different bank so I cant/dont link it to my current account/spending money)
    *Realised pay has increased by about £14 per month- every little helps and all that!
    *Upped the OPs to £215 per month :)
    *Resisted the shops and eating lunches/dinners from cupboards and freezer...
    *Brother has said I can have 50% of profit if I sell a load of his stuff on ebay/car boot sale so will probably take him up on that offer!!

    Hi All

    Another NSD (thanks to nights, and like Aunty Mabelk enhanced hours and over a bank holidfay too :j)

    HM supper again at work

    Very sensible drive to work, although did pick up a colleague on the way so technically adds to fuel consumption :cool: - still a good deed done!

    Read the grabbit board and made a list of things to do tomorrow when I finish nights for a couple of days.

    Followed DH around the house when I had woken up switching off all the electric switches/appliances he had left on :mad:, I was sure I'd drummed the need to switch it off into him

    From last month, after reading about tax codes and looking at mine I wrote to the tax office (thinking it would be cheaper then phoning) asking them to review mine as they were splitting my allowance over two jobs, but I only have one now. I also asked them to look at tax relief that I am entitled towards work clothes etc. Looked at tax code for this month and they have reduced it from 647L to 553CUMUL?! Any ideas anyone? I am hoping this means I will get a lovely lump sum when they sort it out ;)

    Oh well...

    That tax code only appears once on the whole internet and that is on this post. :rotfl:I would ring them, they have probably made a mistake. x x

    * Went in Clarks yesterday as BF urgently needed a new pair of shoes and despite lusting after several pairs of sandals I didn't spend a bean. Amazing achievement.

    * My dual fuel tariff ended so I'm now on BG Standard - I've signed up to Energy Smart and have also asked to change tariff to a cheaper one with no tie-in's. I will look at switching supplier when I have a little more time and have recieved my ES pack :D

    * Read my meters to ensure billing would be correct and also to ensure I get my Nectar Points

    * MPG OCD

    * Free Brekkie at work

    * Charging phone at work

    * Shopping list for Aldi tonight and menu planned for next week or so

    * Reviewed 'Freebies' list in Quidco last night and spent a painful couple of hours doing surveys, registering details, applying for free sims blah blah blah

    * Done online banking and moved money around to best places after all bills have been paid etc. Moved Halifax Rewards to OP account and did my monthly jiggery pokery to ensure I get Rewards next month. Checked Halifax Clarity Card balance to ensure I'm on track for spending the minimum £300 for the next reward.

    * Spoke to US rellies last night who have very kindly offered to put us up for a few nights when we are in the US in October. So, so far we are getting free accomodation in NY (:D :T courtesy of my employer :T :D) and free in NJ. We just have to pay for flights which are sadly horrendous, Washington hotel (looking on expedia) for 3 nights, transport and food. Can't wait.

    - I got a £50 love2shop voucher as a bonus at work. Woohoo! Now I just need to make sure I spend it on things I would have bought anyway rather than 'extras'.

    - My first monthly £5 reward for my Halifax account showed up online. I also checked through my standing orders which were transferred over to make sure everything's OK. Just waiting for the direct debits now.

    - Later this afternoon I'm going to withdraw £1000 from my Santander Zero credit card (cash advances are free for me at the moment) and stash it in my savings account. It'll only be for a few months unfortunately (wish I'd done it earlier), but every little helps.

    - Oh, also I've been on antibiotics for a week, which has prevented me from drinking [much].

    Hi all!
    not much ahs been going on here really, or should I say, I've been doing things but you can't seem to tell or they are things which don't really put more money in my pocket :( (even if they are good in the long run!)
    I sold some amazon vouchers to my sister (only a few £ but still cash is better tha vouchers to me!)
    I got together some carboot things for later this week
    I have started a personal mini DY challenge (£20 by the end of may eeek!) I'm on about £1.30 at the mo but you might as well aim high right!? One review done this morning so I'm off the mark
    I'm also trying to make use of the c!ao bonus payments, 15p per review is brill because all i have to do is copy and paste! got 4 up so far i think
    I've got a new onepoll thing for my phone but so far there've been no surveys, can this be right?
    I did 2 surveys over the weekend which should add to my totals nicely
    I've been trying to drive economically and use our more efficient car where possible and for longer trips out
    Used a voucher when we went out for dinner the other day
    Listed some things on ebay (I hate ebay but at least I've started, hopefully I can get more into it I just dont think any of my things will sell!) got a few watchers so just hoping the things sell as it might motivate me!
    Think thats about it but like I said, I still dont have any actual extra money to add to my savings pot but i recognise that it is a long haul!

    Anyways...
    Off to make my self a packed lunch and then do some proper work!

    From me :

    * Transferred money about the accounts to qualify for the £5 halifax reward money = £10
    * Was sent some black bananas from my sissy , I made HM banana loaf with them
    * Found £28 in OHs ISA account that we didn't know was there
    * Nagged OH to get some fuel allowance back he had to put in at work. He received £18 straightaway.
    * Sent off OH's fuel request form after I filled it in requesting money from when he attended an internal interview beginning of April . He travelled 150 miles all in so should get something back there.
    * Listed on the dreaded ebay and now have 64 watchers since Sunday
    * Done and sticking to a strict menu plan to use up food in the house before we go away
    I can't be bothered updating this anymore

    Just claimed £5.34 from Ciao for reviews, and i got a £5 amazon voucher yesterday from swagbucks, and did a 250 point Ip5o5 survey, which hopefully there will be a 2nd part also worth 250 today.

    Old sofa has been collected, so the plan is to get out in the garden later and to plant some tomato plants into growbags, and then pot on some lettuces and purple sprouting broccoli i germinated.

    2nd load of washing is in, and it will all go on the line as it is a lovely day.
