So far today I've
- put some washing out on the line to dry
- about to set up our new electric moniter which we got free0 -
Hello All
Been a few days soooo:
I've been baking cakes instead of buying biscuits
Still driving VERY sensibly
Reading my book instead of watching TV (with the exception of the wedding)
HM supper at work
planted lots of vegetable seeds (free with newspaper couple of weeks ago)
Gradually putting together piles of stuff to ebay and carboot.
Have also been screened out of the surveys I've tried
Thanks Auntie Mabel, about the car. DH is self employed and needs the car for work so during his working hours, he does need it, although if he has a long enough job I could pinch the car while he does that to do the shopping in. Work for me is over 20 miles away - no chance of me cycling:rotfl:! Unfortunately, while trying to avoid a very discourteous driver the other day, DH scraped his car along a wall pulling the bumper off at the side! Made him very cross, as it was also due to his impatience! Fortunately he is already hunting for a new one and his is really is not worth very much, but its worth even less now. Feel its going for parts only:o
This week is goingto be taken up trying to find cheap flights to visit my mum who's not well, and find a paying home for all the trash/ very valuable stuff currently cluttering up my home!Owe Mum for house deposit: 01/04/2011 £4700

arrived at car boot sale at 6.45am this morning .
Did really well , got myself
Clarks trainers (NEW) £2.
Clarks sandals (NEW) £2.
2 Next tops @ 50p each.
1 River island top for my daughter - 50p.
1 River island Gillet for my " - 50p.
A pair of clarks sandals for my Inlaws foster child - £1.
Hubby got 3 cd's for £1.
Then on the way home hubby rolled all the way home in the car without using much petrol , cos he puts his foot down and then lets us roll for ages. Then he keeps repeating this all the way home so we use half the petrol (I know we sound mad):rotfl:.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Afternoonie all

It's been another great weekend of weather for planting and tending to veggies, can't wait to get eating the organic produce rather than paying through the nose for it at supermarkets.
So today I have/will:
*Used my organic decaff teabags twice. They are very expensive (£2.49 for 40) but being preggy I can't have normal caffinated tea as it makes me feel so poorly and I don't like the look of the chemicals they use to decaffinate cheaper tea, so I will have to keep using one bag for two cuppas.
*Done my weekly Asda shop on line for a cheap £3.00 delivery on Tuesday. Pleased to see bags of SP pasta are only 9pence each. I have stocked up.
*DP planted me some spinach today bless his cotton socks.
*I made left over stew and dumplings today (it was lush too) and saved the gravy to go over the dog's tea.
*Did two lots of washing and line dried. I noticed DP had a grease mark on one of his white shirts so I put a bit of neat StarDrops on the stain, washed at 40 degrees and I am pleased to say it vanished.
*Started watching Make do and Mend on C4 On Demand on the Internet (quite a nice, frugal orientated programmed to keep you inspired.) It is also on normal TV on C4 - weekday lunch times if any of you haven't tuned in yet.
*Watched a film called The Town with Ben Affleck - it was excellent and it was free - loan off a friend.
*Just about to start DP's and my tea. We are having SP pasta salad with tuna. Shall make enough for tomorrows lunch too.
*Working two hours overtime tomorrow.
*Have checked Freecycle for gardening and baby stuff.
*Checked lottery ticket - not a millionaire this week folks. :rotfl:
*Continued doing my tax assessment.
That's about it. Hope you are all having a relaxing and peaceful Sunday.

Not been doing too well recently - spending too much on bits all the time and my cash forecast is woeful. Had to buy a couple of summer tops as I'd not magically lost the weight I should have done
Can only blame myself. And need to get some trousers next - will probably double up some Tesco's clubcard vouchers (last day to do so is the 5th) and use them.
* Quite good at watching my MPG. Looking out for cheaper petrol stations
* Went in to bank yesterday and closed down a very old savings account that was earning 0% - there was only a £1 in it but that's £1 towards my next cash OP
* Also have set things in motion to transfer my cash ISA from First Direct (earning 2.7%) to the Halifax (will earn 3.2%)
* I use Conditioner that 'enhances' colour - ie it has a small amount of dye in it. I buy Tresemme when it's on offer but I've not found it that effective on my hair. However there is a brand called Creightons and I first found it months ago in Wilkinsons for £1 (a 250ml tube), found it was brilliant and kicked myself for not buying more as they never stocked it again. Was OVERJOYED to find it yesterday in the local '99p' Store so bought a few tubes. 3x900ml Tresemme on £10 offer = 93p per 250ml, so the Creightons is pence more expensive but I think its much better and I don't use as much.
* Done a couple of YouGov surveys recently
* Budgeted OP will go out of Current account tomorrow and I'm working on scrabbling together a few other bits but probably won't amount to much - it will just be surplus amounts in accounts
* Needed travel insurance for business trip later in month and they asked me to arrange my own and claim it back. Which I have done but did it via Quidco and £5 tracked
* Re-started using the Nectar search bar as that's now earning points again now its the 1st of the month0 -
Today I have:
-completed a VO survey for 75p
-taken a shower instead of the bath
- not left the telly on for the dog (OH said he would get home soon after I had left)
- reduced what I fed the dog, please don't think I starve him - the vet called him 'rounded' last month, but he's not fat with all the walks he gets - while I'm walking him I'm not using electric for the telly/radio, its free exercise and as someone else rightly says in winter the house feels warmer when you get back.
- HM supper for work
- used up the crust at the bottom of the bread bag that the OH would have thrown away to make toast.
-whoopsied bread X2
- worked out our annual income/outgoings and wondered where all the 'spare' money is going?!Owe Mum for house deposit: 01/04/2011 £4700
Currently £27020 -
I often wonder where all the spare cash goes , maybe we have
a hole in the bottom of our purse :rotfl:.
Today ,
Going to work this morning , dont have to - but want to.
Listing items on ebay.
making a banana cake this afternoon and some flap jacks.
Cutting my sons hair.
On the down side , our neighbour was burgled saturday night and we think they tried our house first cos when I woke up in the morning our back gate was wide open. So hubby said we should get a burglar alarm which we have ordered through quidco which will set us back £182 (hence why I am ebaying again). :mad:Kindness costs nothing0 -
I have just done 2 night shifts ALL Sun/Bank Holiday enhanced hours (not really a 'little' thing cos it was 2x12 hour shift but v worthwhile
)
Also sorted out a pile of books I will list on Amazon marketplace. I've sold text books before but never tried novels, so will see how I get on.
Am having trouble registering with YouGov. I've submitted my details and it says I will be sent a confirmation email but this hasn't come. Anyone else have this problem?
Any way, it's bedtime for me now.
Night night0 -
Morning allllllllllllllllllll
Well today I have/will:
*Get bus to work rather than use petrol and walk home.
*Working 2 hours o/t.
*Clean all doors and light switches in the house. How do they get so grubby so quickly?
*Check my Asda online order for any extra roll backs or bargains they may have added overnight.
*Start reading my hypnotherapy labour book for a virtually pain free labour...EEK!
*Return three tops bought in catalogue sales, decided to go without instead.
*Walk doggys for free exercise.
*Cook a chicken to make into three meals and sandwich meat.
*Get around to touching up my roots, too tired over the weekend.
And slightly "off" topic and in somewhat questionable taste, My Dp is in a "Deadpool" at his work. He phoned me to say he had Osama Bin Laden as his entry so he has won £50. So he is very chuffed,
Have a great day folks. x x0 -
Yesterday and today:
* neighbour's friend came to help us with a leak in the kitchen (this is really not great MSE news) so we may or may not have saved the cost of a plumber (I think there are still leaks from the pipes - waiting for DH to come down and check).
* did some cleaning and decluttering - lots of cleaning of filthy flooded floor but the men trekked dirt into it whilst fiddling with the pipes so still filthy for another wash today!
* bought 12 months road tax as cheaper than 6 months - I think it is so unfair to hard up people to charge them so much more for 6 months tax!Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
