Thank you very much. I thought I'd become invisible. I wish it was the prevention unfortunately it's full blown! I will give this a try as nothing else is working.

I've had ME since 1988, Mardatha, got glandular fever and never recovered properly. Have heard so much BS over the years that I could strangle people.* Spoke to a counsultant neurologist once and she expressed her opinion that ME/CFS is not ONE illness but MANY that are poorly understood at present, which might explain why some people respond to some therapies and others don't. I, too, have a "mystery virus" in my blood, as identified by a top London teaching hospital, initially gave a false-positive for Lyme Disease but is not that and they don't know what it is. Who knows, but I wonder if we ME-ers are like the canaries in the coal mine, giving early warning of environmental pollution?
* Typed that in a tearing hurry and later re-read it and it didn't come across quite as I intended. I didn't mean to strangle (metaphorically) anyone who would offer useful suggestions here, but was thinking of a bl**dy useless tool of a GP and various pundits and quacks who take advantage of the desperation to get well which I and so many others have felt. Have wasted money I couldn't spare and have felt taken advantage of....Hope I didn't give the wrong impression.I didn't know if I could quote myself (hey I can!) but just wanted the extra bit to be seen as I was a bit worried I've accidentally caused offense.:o Posted originally in a tearing hurry on a micro-break whilst at work..........

Beware !
There is a down side to water meters though - my friend had a leak on her pipe and it was a year before it was detected and she had to pay over £2,000 for water used even though it was the faulty pipe that caused it.
I wonder if we could get water aid for this country for £8 a month  - that is a gripe for another dayBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

think i might have to dig out the washing line and give it a clean so i can start using that instead of LOTS of electricity using the dryer
have got a bolognaise in the SC for tea today, filled with lots of veggies, lentils and a tiny bit of mince, there will be some leftover so i will be making that into some bolognaise pasties
just realised that next month we have home insurance due and the MOTso March will be a VERY tough month for us
we ended up going over our food budget this month(not sure by how much as i've not checked yet) so will have to make sure that i stay on track in March, also putting the brakes on our alchohol spends too as we spent far too much this month(around £50) and it was money that we really could have done with using to pay off the CC
we made more flapjack yesterday but mixed almost half a jar of strawberry jam into the mix and this batch was just as tasty as the mincemeat flapjack
DD has world book day to look forward to when she goes back to school and the theme is to dress up as a character from a book, the only rules being that it's something suitable to wear all day indoors and outdoorsso i need cheap(pref free) costume ideas for her....... she does have a Jessie(toy story) outfit, a Handy Manny one and a Disney Princess one but none of these are really suitable for wearing all day at school......... her school uniform is green so i do have a green and white gingham dress, so i was trying to think of how i could use that....... thinking little red riding hood but that would be better as a red dress.......... erm......... what about Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz??......... or was her dress a blue and white gingham one??
does anyone have any other idea's?? please?
Hi there dollydaydream, last year my daughter dressed up as the witch from "Room on the Broom" which was a very simple costume. Will see if I can find a pic...
It was just a plain pink jumper, we borrowed a witch's skirt but on the actual book it's just a plain purple skirt, tights. She was comfy in these all day at school. The cloak, hat and broom were borrowed. Her little sister got in on the act aswell, with a borrowed witch's outfit from freecycle!Skint but happy with my lovely family

Gailey - I was wife no 2 for my ex and he had 2 kids when I met him and I became their stpmum. His daughter was lovely but his son wasnt. Caused lots of problems when his mother got fed up with him and he came to live with us aged 17. He's 26 now and still lives with his father. His father and I are now divorced (not his sons fault but he didnt help). I wont go out with a man who has children now, which is very hypocritical of me as I have a child but I would rather be single.
Its been very hard from beggining when we got together he was 5 and now hes 13next month!
Peoplesay ahh its its age but hes always in some sort of trouble.
His mams a nitemare all she cares about is money and when she can dump him next.she gets monthly mainatainance, extra september for uniform,1pair shoes a year and few other bits around xmas/birthdays.

Dont knowwhat bothers me more fact hes unappreciate and doesnt seem to really care for his sisters, always stirring and causing rows.
Or fact we spend small fortune on him and he breaks everything.
Anyone else got destructive kids?
I guess I just thinkabout kids in world who have nothing and what an ungrateful sod he is hes delibertatly broken 3mobiles in just over a year!Plus despite really bad year in school feel rewarding bad behaviour and not teaching him correct way to behave.
Feel we parenting triangle thats broken down,so hard when they not your own to tell them off so expect hubby to stepin when his sons out of line. His mum just makes excuses for him and thinks we being overly critical.
Not sure what suppport social are offering his mam as he reckons social were taking him to maccy ds this week.It seems his naughty behaviour he just gets more treats and attention.
dont see social or his mams response a shelping him.
When he came to stay tuesday he swore several times.

Um, well, I could probably cope with a stone but not alot more than that without looking like I had stepped out of Belsen! When I went to work on Wed the first words out of 3 peoples mouths were "Christ, you have lost weight". Funnily enough, I have a bag of popcorn too! Breakfast is porridge.
How cute are they PH!?!0 -
Good afternoon all, lovely we have the thread unlocked I would really miss it if we lost it altogether.
Re car: went to garage this morning and saw the boss about the damage. He had seen it but since nothing had been said assumed it was like that when I took it in. Said it must have been done by builders lorry. Mmm not sure I buy that as it doesn't look like impact damage to me. However no argument, accepted responsibility and arranged for repair next week. will lend me a car for work if it takes more than a day to fix. Now that is proper customer service and why I have been using them for so many years.
Joined Costco today so going to keep all receipts for a year to see if it's worth it. I think it will be and even where stuff like meat is about the same price as the supermarkets the quality is so much higher. Anyone else use them? I'd love to know what you buy.
As you read these posts do you find you build up a mental image of the posters based on little clues in their posts and their locations? I know I do and some of what has been said today about ill health made me change my perception more. I love the OS way of life but easy it surely ain't and knowing how tired I can be after a day baking I wonder how some of you manage it.
Take care all.0
