Thanks got it now :T0 -
Thanks ZaraZara, I've been trying to read Dr Myhill for the last few week but keep giving up as my "Brain Fog" is getting in the way. Even reading through the thread I have to make notes as otherwise by the time I come to reply I wouldn't be able to remember anything.'"Let your boat of life be light, pack only what you need- A homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone who loves you, a cat, a dog, a pipe or two enough to eat, enough to wear and a little more than enough to drink, as thirst is a dangerous thing" Jerome k. Well the maintainence from my ex for our DD has stopped. I knew it was happening and have adjusted my budget accordingly but what annoys me is he has bought a car whilst out of work and we all know the cost of insurance and running them at the mo, and he carnt afford to help support our DD:mad: Said he needed a car in case he gets a job interview!
I had to go to the post office to renew my driving licence photo and that cost £20, grrr. However on a moneysaving note mum gave me a 5p off a litre petrol voucher and 6 organic free range eggs:T.
Glad the thread is unlocked. Was most annoyed last night when I wanted to come and have a moan and couldnt:rotfl:I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0 -
Squeaky Great news about your scooter. How lovely for you to get your freedom back
Jediteacher If you mean for prevention of - I'm afraid I don't know, but if you mean for the treatment of - I personally find that for me, over and above anything else that's on the market TCP Ointment wins hands down on stopping the itching and shrinking them. I thought it might smart a tad, but it doesn't, and the immediate "warm" feeling upon application is wonderful........ Sorry guys, probably a bit to much info there :rotfl:
(I hope that wont be regarded as medical advice - I'm just stating what works very well for me)
catznine Hope you feel better after your treatment
I got the dreaded phone call this morning regarding my DDs ESA claim. She has to have an assessment on the 14th MarchI'm just dreading it. She doesn't cope well with people or crowds and I have to get her there on public transport.
DD has had a particularly bad couple of months, and this assessment, and the fall-out from the ordeal of attending it is going to be a nightmare and will do untold damage, and all so that some complete stranger, who presumably will be neither Psychiatrist or Psychologist, will decide in a 40 minute time frame, whether or not my DD is too mentally ill to be fit for work. How is that remotely acceptable?......I haven't got the words for how ANGRY that makes me.
My GP tells me, that years ago, people with Mental Illness weren't required to attend such assessments - and quite right too. A stranger is not equipped or qualified to make such decisions. My word....I'd like to be left in a room with Cameron for 5 minutes!

About 1988 DH was told he had ME---his whole system seemed to be closing down and he was becoming a zombie(my description). One of our GPs' speciallity was food intolerances. He tested DH and said he was allergic to a number of foods--main ones being potatoes, cane sugar and sunflower oil. He recovered to return to work. DD at age of 11 tested positive for another group of foods--eg red meat, grapes, chicken. Boxing Day was always miserable!! DH's neice had lost sight in one eye amongst things and was also tested posted for food allergies. DD at 27 was told 98% likely she has MS (which is more pevalent in young women born in Scotland even if have only spent short time there). Dgs is autistic at 4. Please do not shoot me down in flames if I make a slight suggestion, that some illnesses are food(or what is done to food) related.
No shooting down from me, Lora, I've been tested extensively for food intolerances and it's not so for me. Al lthat happens is that if I overeat dairy I pass a lot of wind!
We're all different, metabolically and my ME is inhabiting a body with an extremely rare metabolic disorder (clue; GPs ask me questions about it, it's so very rare that they're fascinated). Would rather be less interesting but we have to play the hand we're dealt. Cheers for the site, will check it over the weekend.:)
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hippeechiq I am thoroughly pee'ed off on your behalf. I recently had to see a doctor for an assessment for my employers. He told me straight away that he was not a specialist in either condition that I had and that he was a GP who did these assessments as a way of making extra income. HE could not comment on how fit I was or otherwise for work and that his report would basically just be a record of the conversation we had, had. I told him when I was planning on returning to work, which he thought sounded fine, but not to rush things (!). The Occupational Health nurse wound me right up when she called him a specialist. I told her he was not and got a lecture from her about asking people their qualifications when the company had been good enough to send me  You couldn't make it up. They should only have people with knowledge of the condition doing these types of jobs.
I can't remember - does your daughter not qualify for DLA?It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

Maya, was it you asking about cheap gardening?
We have our 'stuff' planted in all sorts of things, everything from an old toilet & cistern to unwanted wastebins & SMA tins.
Hubby has been in the garden all morning so far, the wood we ordered to finish the decking with arrived just before 8am & Tesco delivery arrived at 8:30, so we don't have to hang around waiting.
Tesco order came to £97, mainly dry goods & will last for approx 3 months, I only buy 2 things for the freezer, onen chips for hubby & frozen peas.
When the wood arrived I queried it with hubby as it seems a lot more than we need, turns out he's planning another raised bed!
Hugs Hester
Thanks Hester. :T I will have a scout around to see what I can find. I just don't believe that growing your own saves money if you have to spend a fortune on fancy equipment first.
Mrs VegPlot you have made me crave pheasent. :DMy Grandpa used to hunt and my Granny made a mean game pie.0 -
i have never quite understood DWp's assessments connected to mental illness--i have sat in various states of madness with gps and sw's and they have failed to recognise the symptoms -only a psychiatrist can assess mh and a report from one should be all that is needed--i agree with you about the stress of the interview being upsetting but i dont think they really care about the person and only want to show what power they have to 'pull' you in when they want--i sympathsisemfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Hippiechick The situation with your daughter is disgusting. Far too much red tape and not enough common sense.
Starrsandmoonhas your ex never heard of pubil transport to get to interviews.
Maya i dont know if you have a Home and bargin by you but they have potatoes seedlings and sack on offer for under £2.
JackieGlasgowi think you have every right to ask the person assessing you their qualifications.
DD sprug it on me yesterday that she is off to florida with her dad over the Easter Holidays and needs new clothes. Ive suggested we look at what she had last year and see if some of it can be up dated or is ok to use. DD seems to think Im being mean as her stepmom is taking herself and her DD out to get her lot of new clothes to go and DD does not understand that we just dont have the money to do this."Let your boat of life be light, pack only what you need- A homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone who loves you, a cat, a dog, a pipe or two enough to eat, enough to wear and a little more than enough to drink, as thirst is a dangerous thing" Jerome k. Happier, could you perhaps explain to her that clothes are cheaper in the US - if that is still the case! - and possibly sort out a small budget for her to buy some stuff there that people can't get over here?
Sounds like at the moment she feels she's getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
