Jediteacher, I don't have a magic cure but some of the over the counter creams are pretty effective I believe. x
Meant to say yesterday to Mrs Veg Plot. Well done on getting your grocery bill down. That's a fantastic saving.:T0 -

Hi Jackie! I am lucky enough to live near a MS centre with a Hyperbaric Oxygenation Therapy (HBOT) tank. The centre helps people with a range of neuro probs including ME. I don't "dive" as yet as I have other health issues at the moment but sit outside with an oxygen mask on for half an hour. I seem to sleep better and it has helped other ME sufferers so fingers crossed that my energy levels will rise before dd's wedding. I pay a donation for the use of the oxygen.
The centre is great, good company and lots of support for each other. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Good Morning Squeaky, hope you have a lovely day.
Well although the big yellow orb is no longer in the sky here today it is very warm. OH is off work and has taken himself off mountain biking for the morning and Im hoping that after I have finnished this cup of coffee I'll be able clean all the bedrooms and change the bedding.
To be honest I rather be with OH on my bike but unfortunately I can't. I have recently been diagnosed with ME/CFS and have very limited energy at the minute, especially as when I'm having a good day I do too much and then crash.
So I keep having to repeat the mantra of do half of what I think I can do and rest often but unfortunately I've never been very good at resting or delagating and try to do everything for everyone.
I know other's on here have their own health issues and I'm wondering how you manage to balance this with being OS as, as its been noted OS isnt alway the easiest way."Let your boat of life be light, pack only what you need- A homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone who loves you, a cat, a dog, a pipe or two enough to eat, enough to wear and a little more than enough to drink, as thirst is a dangerous thing" Jerome k. I have some of this plus something the doctor gave me. Not doing much at the moment. My hubby says I'm just impatient and want a miracle cure for everything. He's probably right!'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

Sun? Wossat then, sniff, sob?
I keep seeing on tv everyone else is apparently having sunshine. For the past week here we`ve had gales and lashing rain and it`s perishing!
Gingham dress would be fine for Red Riding Hood, it was her cape and hood that was red. :-) Or if you did Dorothy, just add plaits and red shoes and if she has one, a toy stuffed dog for Toto. Sounds fun, we never had that when I was at school.
ooh thanks for that, think i will go for Dorothy but a rebel Dorothy(wearing green and white lol) DD loves her hair in plaitshas a stuffed dog(in it's own handbag too lol) and i think she has a pair of red shoes(she has that many lol)
could do Red Riding Hood too as i could just dress her in a pretty dress and she could wear her 'posh' coat as that's red with a hood lol....... but then do i really want her wearing her 'posh' coat for school where it will no doubt get ruined(DD is such a tomboy sometimes lol)
ooh another thought, what colour dress was Goldilocks?? was she yellow as they are allowed to wear yellow gingham dresses too so i could reuse that dress as school uniform
choices, choices.....
right i best go and get cleaned up as my SIL has just text asking of we fancy going to the Wacky with her and her girls........ can't really afford it but we haven't seen SIL and the girls since before xmas so it will be good to have a catch up....... will make sure we have eaten and had a drink before we go so we don't have to spend anything other than paying to play0 -
Thanks Catznine, sorry for being so nosey. It sounds great - something as simple as oxygen making a huge difference to your life is incredible. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Just try to be nice to yourself and don't worry about being the best OSer in the world. Your health is paramount.
ps I found this thread which may help. xx

Morning all,
no sun in W. Wales for the last two days either Red Doe, you are not alone. Hope you have some where you are Squeaky to enjoy your regained mobility.
Just popped on to say, anyone with an Aldi nearby, their super 6 veg this week are really good for the sort of OS soups/stews many of us cook - parsnips, onions, potatoes, carrots, swede and broccoli all at 39p each today and tomorrow. I was lucky yesterday and also got half price mushrooms, strawberries, cucumber and lettuce, so that's our 5 a day sorted for a while. Also got some chocolate (for research purposes obviously).
Hope everyone has a good day,

Os can be an easy way but it is important to just let it become a way of life rather than it being a conscious effort eg washing clothes, just do whatever you find cheapest, I wash on cooler or cold when I can and that saves loads. Cook triple or double at a time eg a big pot of good soup will keep days in the fridge and if I want to make one that will keep longer, then I use stock cubes rather than real meat stock
A bit at a time is key0 -

So sorry you have me/cfs (((hugs))) but managing the symptoms is possible. I find it hard to get the balance sometimes but am getting better with experience. Pacing is what really helps, just do a little every now and then and rest inbetween! For instance if I want to make a veg soup, I wash and peel a few carrots, go and sit down, get up and wash and peel some potatoes, rest, then the onions and rest, it is frustrating at first but it gets better and you should have a lovely hm soup at the end of the day!
Learning to recognise when you are in danger of overdoing things and resting helps. I get numbness on one side when I have done too much! Don't let it get that bad! I read a lot of info and then do what I can when I am feeling well. Must be much the same with many other illnesses. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
