Please feel free to join me under the line that's been drawn under the unpleasantness and let's get on with it. Neither side will agree so let's all agree to disagree and leave it at that, this makes uncomfortable reading for us all.

I think you scared everyone Jackie.:rotfl::p:D

I want to grow my own veg ladies but refuse to buy any fancy paraphenalia (sp) Any tips for gardening without blowing the budget?
    :)
  • Maya I use whatever I can find for growing stuff Those big flexible plastic buckets are my faves but the big Tesco hessian bags are great for potatoes.

    Good morning everyone :)

It's a nice new fresh day and I'm about to get ready to go and collect my new mobility scooter. Well OK, it's second hand - but it's new to me and it's magic! :)

I hadn't realised how housebound I'd become until I got freedom of movement back.

    YAY :)

Superb....enjoy it but don't be breaking any speed limits ;);).
I am having a bad back day, and was planning to rest, however it is sunny so think I might muster up some energy to take DS out for a wee run in the car/play somewhere, and maybe browse a charity shop or two. Will take lunch out with us though ;).
Have a grand day everyone x

  • Looks like we're open again!

Was pleased with myself yesterday as actually ventured out after physio to the Co-op. I never shop there as I find it far more expensive than Sainsburys. I had a voucher for the Co-op for £2 off a £20 spend that came through the door and as I was only 2 minutes from the Co-op thought I'd see what they had. Well, I did manage to spend the £20 well 48p over and used the coupon. However, I must have been in at just thr right time as I got loads of reduced meat, pies, veg and yoghurts. I bought enough to feed us for the rest of this week and paid £18.48. :j

Not much else going on here. If anyone has a magic cure for pregnancy piles please, please share.

Ebay stuff selling pretty well. I listed my daughters clothes that she has grown out of for 99p each and have sold 15 out of the 20 items listed. Apart from two items they are all selling between £1.50 - £2.00 and still have 2 days to go.

Hope everyone has a good day the big yellow thing in the sky has disappeared again.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Good Morning Squeaky good luck with the mobility scooter, sounds like a great investment, my friend loves hers and I often see her buzzing around town in it loaded down with bargains!

I am off for more oxygen today, 2nd out of 12 treatments and am hoping for more energy as a result. Fingers crossed! Then it's back to the fabric hearts and the sewing machine (after a nap that is). I managed to get lots of ribbon on ebay for a fraction of the price at hobbycraft, it is now my first port of call for craft projects.

Must remember to top up my little car with some fuel today, although it has already gone up in price! :(

Have a lot of apples in so a pie making session is due, thank goodness for the freezer. Have a lovely moneysaving day everyone!

Sorry to hear about your back Orkneystar. :(
Good luck with the job applications Polka Purpura.

Office closed again today but I nipped in and got some paperwork which I can try to do at home. I'm being paid after all so I'm happy to help my boss. I do love my job and the thought of redundancy is so scary. :(

Thanks for the tips for growing tatties Jackie. I wil have a rummage in Boyfs shed this weekend and see wht he's bringing with him when he moves in.
    :)
  • wow. i think we are being spoilt........ 2 days in a row it's been sunny :)
think i might have to dig out the washing line and give it a clean so i can start using that instead of LOTS of electricity using the dryer

have got a bolognaise in the SC for tea today, filled with lots of veggies, lentils and a tiny bit of mince, there will be some leftover so i will be making that into some bolognaise pasties :)

just realised that next month we have home insurance due and the MOT :( so March will be a VERY tough month for us :( we ended up going over our food budget this month(not sure by how much as i've not checked yet) so will have to make sure that i stay on track in March, also putting the brakes on our alchohol spends too as we spent far too much this month(around £50) and it was money that we really could have done with using to pay off the CC

we made more flapjack yesterday but mixed almost half a jar of strawberry jam into the mix and this batch was just as tasty as the mincemeat flapjack :)

DD has world book day to look forward to when she goes back to school and the theme is to dress up as a character from a book, the only rules being that it's something suitable to wear all day indoors and outdoors :) so i need cheap(pref free) costume ideas for her....... she does have a Jessie(toy story) outfit, a Handy Manny one and a Disney Princess one but none of these are really suitable for wearing all day at school......... her school uniform is green so i do have a green and white gingham dress, so i was trying to think of how i could use that....... thinking little red riding hood but that would be better as a red dress.......... erm......... what about Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz??......... or was her dress a blue and white gingham one??

does anyone have any other idea's?? please?
  • catznine can I be nosey and ask about the oxygen - is it a medical treatment? :o

  • Dorothy was blue and white, but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of poetic licence ;)

Sun? Wossat then, sniff, sob? :D
I keep seeing on tv everyone else is apparently having sunshine. For the past week here we`ve had gales and lashing rain and it`s perishing! :(
Gingham dress would be fine for Red Riding Hood, it was her cape and hood that was red. :-) Or if you did Dorothy, just add plaits and red shoes and if she has one, a toy stuffed dog for Toto. Sounds fun, we never had that when I was at school. :)
