Hey, we have one of those hovering over Provincial City, anyone know what it could be?
Just wish I could be on the lottie not stuck at my desk (am on break at the mo).
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Well the old dear who almost took out the street has been unfortunately sectioned under the mental health act..her son has apologized to us all..like i told him its not your fault...but he has taken it really badly...he is going to put her in a nursing home..thinks its the best and safest place for her..me too tbh..i would worry sick if she came home..
Well the sun is shining and its not too bad outside so i'm putting a bit of laundry out..fingers crossed...the chickens are sunning themselves and my seeds have started to push through the compost...had a look in the garden and everything has buds on it..jasmine,honeysuckle,lilac tree, pear tree, fruit bushes and my virginia creeper..so am taking it as a sign spring is well and truly on her way...
My daughter's chap didn't get paid...he went to the office and asked why?????..got told it will be there tonight...sceptical much???????..she rang this morning in floods of tears..calmed her down a bit but what can i do??..tea and sympathy are all i have to offer...feel bad because if i had the money i would gladly give them it..but i don't...her chap is fuming..the recievers have them by the short and curlies really...getting them to work and not paying them..if he walks out then the jobcentre won't give him anything..so he is working 40+ hours for nothing...they shouldn't be allowed to do it...
Old style tea tonight..having jacket potatoes with cheese and beans..with trifle for pudding..
Happy birthday to snips..have a great day mate...enjoy all that yummy food your lovely mummy made for you....

Baby Casper arrived last thursday! 7lb 2oz.
Congratulations Lauren! So pleased for you!:j
We have 12 weeks to go until first grandchild is due! We have just given them some funds for a new cot, can't wait until it is filled by new small person! Really must start knitting the blanket now! Trouble is with making up the fabric hearts, clearing the house ready for the wedding, part time job, cooking from scratch and pacing (me/cfs) I am running out of time and energy fast! Old styling is not for wimps!;)
Today is more sewing, cooking (using up contents of organic box) and some card making!
Nuala - I bought some half price daffs from Mr S and they have just bloomed, such a great and cheap way of cheering up the hallway! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£1200 -
Got the weekly shop in for under £60 :j and that included buying £5 of woopsie meat and 12kg of bread making flour. I know it is still a lot but considering this time last year I was spending £120 a week (hangs head in shame
) I think I'm doing pretty well. Just need to get some more milk later on in the week.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Hello everyone,
its a lovely blue sky day today so we have been to the park for a couple of hours and took the boys a drink and snack so money spent!
I have a question, can I put mashed up bananas in normal fairy cakes? We got loads of bananas left but the boys didnt like the banana muffins we made last time, but they love fairy cakes with icing.
Have bedding on the line and am going to wash the front door down when the neighbour from hell, goes in and stops hurling abuse at her children. sick of phoning child services and getting the ' we are aware of this family' statement!
Edit: OH has just put DS2 down for a nap and next door are in the back shes just that loud!Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
Lauren_1 congratulations, hope alls well and I love the name. My Dgs was going to be Matilda if he had been a girl so we could call her Tillybud ( a family favourite) So I am hoping if she gets around to number 2 its a girl. Am busy making stuff for Dgs 's first birthday next month - wow has that gone fast.
Grey Queen hope the eviction is quick, my heart goes out to you, I know how awful it is having idiots living near you!
As for the eyesight, I am rapidly losing the sight in my left eye (my Mum is blind in her left one too) so my one lens was 250 quid last time and I need new glasses soon  You cannot put a price on your sight though sadly so I am saving like mad. Strangeley I used to be a top notch darts player but now cannot throw for toffee - shame
Thats the girls name we chose too but with a H in it.0 -
Police have been seen around the 'hood with an Alsation, got to be one of their drug-sniffer dogs, so maybe we'll have some raids soon. One of the flats is so bad, they won't take the dogs in (needles underfoot) but Soc Services are quite happy for the druggy dad to have custody of his young son in there......Often think I'm living in a mad world and can I go back to my own planet NOW?!
That's appalling  and equally appalling is that you are having to live under such awful circumstances.
You always seem so upbeat and positive. Credit to you for being able to rise above it all - it can't be easy :T Glad you managed to get some kip last night too
Congratulations on your baby boy LaurenWhat a lovely time of the year to have a baby. Good weather to look forward to and nightime feeds must be soooo much easier in the summer than they are in winter.
I've got the same strange yellow ball in the sky here in my part of Dorset too! :j Got me a line of washing blowing in the gentle breeze and have been out for a walk - it's glorious out there.

Thanks for the advice about my parents not having told me things. They are like that about everything though and this has led to a rather strained relationship with them these days.
We have one of those rare yellow things in the sky too. Thought today would be a nice day for me as partner at home for a very very rare day off and the second house viewing this afternoon. Now its all gone to pot. Got the surveys back on the house this morning and apart from a few bits of work that were pretty easy to sort and redecorating everything it wasn't in bad nick. So we were already to proceed and get started with the contracts. Then booom, the EA rings up, a cash buying has gone in with a higher bid than us. Even worse the person that outbid us is the person that had gazzumped us on the last house we were buying. She just buys up everything thats affordable around here for cash and rents them out. This is the reason why hardly anything comes up for sale as she already owns around 50 houses around here that she rents out. I am fuming!!! It now means that there is pretty much no chance of us buying a house around here as they are now all above our budget.
All I want to do is cry right now, it's so demoralising. That's two lots of surveys that have gone down the drain!Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Having to start driving to work every day (car share at the mo but other girls going on maternity leave soon) so will also be researching cheaper cars today - our cars a bit of a fuel guzzler and has a high tax band too...hhmmmm...any suggestions anyone?
K x
Have you looked into car sharing?? There might be other people going the same way as you who would be happy to take over where your friend left off. There are a few sites with details where people register when they are looking for someone to share (or you could put your details down - might be worth a try) - here might be a place to start.
If you're looking to buy a cheapo car though, I'm stymied, I'm afraid! My old Agila cost £35 a year to tax and was very cheap to run but we did all have to pedal when going uphill :rotfl: It was a new shape one as the old ones look like Postman Pat's car. It wasn't particularly cheap to buy as it was almost new: I bought it because a) it was very green but mainly because b) my car was written off after someone went into my parked car in the snow, I live in the middle of nowhere with no public transport and had ONE DAY to buy a car and c) in the circumstances it was there, was available, new, and comparatively cheap and by far the best car I saw that day.
AND DH WROTE IT OFF FOUR MONTHS LATER :mad:Old styling is not for wimps!;)
That is so true, catznine. I have been out planting and digging in the - ooh, can't think of the word in English... er... is it sunshine ???? this morning and I still have to paint the doorframes upstairs while the light is good, finish making the curtains, sort out what's for supper and, well, clean the house at some point (not ENTIRELY sure the last one is going to happen, LOL).Lindy_-_Loo wrote: »I have a question, can I put mashed up bananas in normal fairy cakes? Which will effectively turn them into fairy cakes of course
Don't see why not! Give it a go!
Incidentally, sorry to hear about your neighbourIt makes you feel so helpless when you hear stuff like that going on and no-one seems to take any notice, doesn't it? But good for you for reporting it. :T My dad's friend resigned from the RSPCA in the sixties after they received a call that a puppy had been kicked across a back yard - one of their chaps went to investigate and the bloke that answered the door knocked him down. So he came back with a policeman and they went into the house where they found a little child, black and blue. The child later died in hospital from his injuries. The neighbour who had reported the man kicking the puppy said oh yes, she'd often seen the man hitting the child, but he was his father so that was none of her business
flowertotmum, know it sounds awful but I am glad that your neighbour has been sectioned - probably best for all concerned, including her. Hopefully you will feel a bit less worried now!0 -
Can report that the yellow thing has appeared here too. A few white/grey fluffy things too.
Kids having a lovely time entertaining themselves with books, play food, tv etc. Just given them sardines on toast for lunch (We seemed to have about 10 tins!!) which they wolfed down. They were looking for more so I gave more toast, this time with butter and home made gooseberry jam. Yum yum. I had sardines on toast too, plus a bowl of my low fat homemade beany soup. Kids eat so much food don't they??!! We'll be needing more bread and milk soon!Skint but happy with my lovely family
