Thanks Brandyberry. I am starting to have a few misgivings. Yes they come and fit it too. Do you think £190 is too much. Got a sick feeling in my stomach now....

    fingers coseed, kidcat!:T

Just under 3 months since OH's last contract ended and he's had now ork since :( He's getting very despondent now.

Popped into town and got new shoes for DS3 - £28! They're only his 2nd pair, though - I've had his feet checked regularly since he had the last pair and they hadn't grown until now. First pair bought in August - so they lasted well for a tot :D Got a big bag of clothes for him from my cousin this week, too (she has 2 boys), so he has lots of bottoms in the next 2 sizes now:j

Also bought some more seeds and some onion sets. Have started some peppers off and will start more seeds off over the weekend. Potatoes are chitting nicely, too:D And I had a bramley tree for my birthday last weekend:D

Washing machine fixed today at a cost of £102:eek: - but that's much better, as at first they thought it might be unrepairable. It's a fully integrated washer drier (and only 4.5 years old) - and they're not cheap. It's used daily, so needs to be reliable! I'll be glad when the weather's better and I can dry more washing outside.

I had cavity wall insulation done the same way - only paid the balance which if memory serves was £190. Mine I organised via a leaflet through the door........

A bit high but still its not like you can fit it yourself? A Mate not on benefits £69 big house as well.

Can't find who it was commented on Sloe Cider but have decided to go for seconds. I did this last not very good BUT i didn't note down how I had done it (always note everything otherwise you will make the same mistake every year). So this is what I have done this year I have taken the used sloes which I have used for Sloe Gin and Sloe cider and put both lots into one demijohn and added cider again. Now If you add Sloe Gin to cider it is just not the same as adding cider to the used Sloes so I will wait about 6 weeks maybe a bit longer and try it. If it is a bit weak on Sloe flavour I might add a bit of Sloe Gin a sort of meet half way. Next year I intend on doing about 5 gallons of Sloe gin. I may try and put 3 lots of used Sloes (used with both gin and cider) into one demijohn see how that works.

Ours was about £220. We're not on benefits and the chap tried really hard to get it lower - but we have a rather large house and the grant just wouldn't cover it, even after allowing for all the windows, doors, the chimney breast etc.

I just turned on sky news and my heart is aching after seeing the tsunami footage. I didn`t know that there had been an earthquake. Oh it is horrifying, I could feel tears in my eyes, one thing after another in this world

congrats kidcat--i do wish i had the nerve to sell my place in the uk--my wife insists i keep my piece of England but i know it is a very poor choice given the omens. the only thing it benefits me by is having a postal address that my doctor accepts and keeps me on his books--it would be cheaper to sever all connection and buy cover here.
if i sold it i could buy 2 letting flats here that would bring me enough income to alleviate the need to work!-i would always work but it takes the pressure off----i left the uk initially because my illness put the mockers on getting a decent job and i was deemed unfit by uk doctors to work no matter how i pleaded--getting signed on is not as easy as it may seem--you have to be deemed unfit by experts who know nothing!- i was unfit in the uk but i now manage to function well-necessisity is the mother,,,,

Me too just turned on the ITN news at 6.30, I had heard about the tsunami but this is the first time today that the TV has gone on, its unbelievable just watching everything getting washed away, its so sad, must be thousands of people missing presumed dead, its terrible a real terrible disaster........
