I had 3 months off when I was in an accident 5 yrs ago, and the first 2 weeks of 2011 I had swine flu.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

I've had one day sick since I started working in 2003.
Last year I had 2 weeks off following a planned operation on my foot which I suppose counts as 'sick'.
I'm so rarely ill, i'd have to be very poorly not to go to work!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

I had 8 months off sick in 2009, but I was diagnosed with Cancer and I was really poorly and had to have a major op and chemo (didn't do any work for the whole 8 months), then in Feb 2010 some of the Cancer came back so had to have another course of chemo but worked inbetween chemo sessions - so I'd be in work roughly 3 weeks of the month then be off when I was having treatment. Onwards and upwards is my motto! (Pre-Cancer I probably had less than 3 days off a year)Always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !

In the last 3 years since I started my current employment have had 0 days off. Gone in with various illnesses, anlkle and elbow problems and when I was having a miscarriage. For one thing I don't get paid sickness for the first 3 shifts also I like to be private about my health problems. I don't want to let my colleagues and customers down. I do sometimes feel like a real mug though!:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

I never had any time off sick until I returned to work after mat leave and seemed to pick up everything- its the tonsilitis every 2 month thats the killer at the moment. Being a teacher and not being able to talk just doesnt work. Cant wait to get them removed and hopefully get back to normal.0

Obviously most posters are not my colleagues, some of whom who use their "sick allowance" to the full0

Depends if I like my job or not! In 2009 I was in a job that became unbearable when a new commercial director came on the scene so I took about 3 weeks off in total (not all in one go). That is the worst I've ever been with 'sickies'. Love my current job though and would have to be quite bad to not go in.0

In the job im in now , which i have been in for 3 years , i have had 2 sick days.
In my previous job which i was in for 14 years i had (I think) 3-5 sick days in the whole 14 years.
So thats 5-7 days in the last 17 years !
My job im in now pays 6 months full sick pay and then that drops to 6 months half pay and i have to say that others take advantage of the employers generosity..they phone in sick if they as much as sneeze !The loopy one has gone :j0
