Nope. I don't always wear one because there isn't always one to wear.0 -
My partner was driving my 9 year old son to school along with his own two kids when they hit a patch of ice. The car skidded into a ditch then turned onto its side. My little boy had not been wearing a seatbelt though he had said he was when partner asked all the children if they were buckled up before they started their journey. My baby was thrown through the side window and suffered severe factial injuries, he will be scarred for life. The trauma, the pain the guilt etc are hard to bare and my sons appearence is a daily reminder of what happened that day. The other kids had been wearing their belts and were unscathed. My boy NEVER ever travels now without his belt and we beg everyone to please please heed the warnings. ALWAYS wear your seatbelt. Im so proud of my little man, the accident was only 3 months ago and his bravery has been amazing, but it could have been prevented so very easily.0

I am sorry for yours and your boy's trauma. A horrible thing to happen to someone so young. Flyboy9 and Flyboy11, know only too well about the importance of seat belts and proper car seats. If only all their friends parents were as responsible. They used to flatly refuse to travel in anyone's car without their seats, when they were short enough to need them (Flyboy9 is five feet and three inches tall and Flyboy11 is five feet tall). They still don't ride in the front though. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Penquin so sorry to hear this about your little boy and wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.
Thanks for posting this, hopefully someone will read this and it will make them think about wearing their seatbelt and you would have prevented another possible tragedy.0 -
Thank you for your kind words, this is exactly why I've posted this as would never wish another family to go through what we are going through. xPOPPYOSCAR wrote: »Penquin so sorry to hear this about your little boy and wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

It was always my plan, if I got someone putting a knife to my throat, to have my seat belt on already (or to try to put it on without them noticing or whilst I was suspicious about them but they hadn't yet done anything) Then I would speed up, and slam it into a tree/lamppost whilst simultaneously pressing the unlock button on his seat belt :rotfl:
If someone is going to strike, they are more likely to do it when you stop (especially when they see where you put your money), hence his excuse for not wearing one, not wanting to be caught trapped in his seat by his belt as well as an attacker.0 -
Ooh, ooh, if you go round roundabouts without wearing your belt, and don't bother to indicate when turning right in front of me, can I break you OP? Please say yes!0

"Break you" as in vehicle dismantlers?0

The very reason I always do Gandalf. Selfish not to. I'd leave my daughter an orphan for one. It amazes me when I remember the times as a kid when we were clambering all over the place in the car before the law and rear seat belts came in. I'm not into Russian Roulette
The greatest gift you'll ever learn,is just to love and be loved in return:love:Nature boy - Eden Ahbez0
