Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 18th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning all,

Day off today :j,too early to see what the weather is doing, but I have a load of washing to do, so can hopefully hang it on the line today.

    Hugs to those in need.
Another one here with a Hollywood, what with that & the piercing it can give the Dr's a shock, I'm sure they don't expect it at my age.
I babysat last night for a couple of hours, it was lovely to see the DGC's, I didn't have a cuddle with the baby as she was asleep & I didn't want to disturb her, DGS read to me, I was very impressed, he's only 6 & can read with expression. DGD was so excited as I took her 3 pairs of socks & some grapes for them to share.
DW just finished, fish fed, hubby dropped at the station, I'm off to work now, TFI Friday, the kids are in dire need of a break.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone - Friday :j

Today I will mostly be in Leeds but am excited as two pieces of work I'm been planning for ages will now happen, or at least one will happen and another will start.

Not sure if OH will be back in time for our usual Chinese evening meal but I'll not be home until later anyway.

Rushed breakfast today so will have a protein shake to get me going, no idea what lunch will be.

Cold is lingering now as stuffed up snot in my nose so perhaps a shower will help. Want to be ready and dressed before Robert Plant pops up on Chris Evans show as he's my rock god.

Another week without potatoes, rice, pasta, sugar or booze and I feel fabulous (apart from the cold that is). Rash is still annoyingly itchy during the evening but it's going, slowly.

Good vibes go out to everyone.

Good Morning all bit grey here in north Kent ,but it is getting lighter slowly in the evenings.Gas and electric bills are in for the winter quarter and I'm not too shocked by them ,not quite as bad as I thought they would be .History class this afternoon which I look forward to ,but I have to pop into the Uni library beforehand to pick up a couple of books .I am re-reading 'Three Men in a Boat' at the moment and its quite funny.I had forgotten all about it as I haven't read it for years and my tutor lent me a copy.I must make a list of some of the old books around that I can get on my kindle to read.Great invention and lots of free downloads. Well time to toddle off and get some breakfast
Hope everyone has a good day and feels a bit better today
    Cheers JackieO xx

  • Hello and good morning all,
Grey and misty here this morning but the washing is going out anyway. The forecast is for sun:)
The hm pizza lunch yesterday went down well with all the adults (5 of us 'coz DD joined us unexpectedly and DSIL tucked in a bit later). DGSs like the frozen ones that come in boxes from the freezer! I made a seeded bread dough in the bm and the ball of dough came out of the bm easily. Last time I made focaccia (sp?) everyone loved it, but I had to fight the dough to get it out of the bm. As now flushed with success, I might have a re-run.
Should be having Normandy chicken today according to my meal plan, but I think it would be better to have something from the freezer for lunch and again for dinner as the freezer is full of hm meals. I had planned to use some during the week, but as the house guests stayed longer than expected, my plans had to change.
Not up with the thread, but very best wishes and hugs to all who want or need them, Silver x
