Thanks Millie! I got some sea-themed charms from Primark a few weeks ago for 50p, lovely turtles etc. I haven't made anything with them yet but I'm thinking something Caribbean-y
Hello Fatherteds! Of course you can join in) I love to see photos so I'm waiting in anticipation
I didn't realise you could do courses at college but I was thinking of doing a workshop at my local bead shop. Got to summon up the courage 1st lol.

Just thought I would say hello! My jewellery making has been very rare the past couple of years due to moving and lack of space etc but I'm determined to get back to it now and we have cleared out the office room so I have a desk to work at! Plus I'm off on the sick for a month with Glandular Fever so will have a lot of time sat around and need something to keep me occupied that isn't too much hard work!
Some of the photos on here are great, think I will have to get myself on you tube to check out some how to's so that I can making anything anywhere near as good.
First to re-stock (but not too expensive as with being off work sick I dont get paid)
ToriTime to get things sorted once and for all......0 -
Thank you for letting me "play" lol.
I did a ten week course at my local college at the end of last year, learning the basics, a night school leisure course. I've got the bug now though, and I've found loads of books to learn more from at my local library. I'm starting another short course from October at college, this time learning how to use resin and fimo. I found it helpful to actually watch someone do it rather than fathom it out from a book.
As promised here are some pics - it's the first time I've done this so please be gentle with me if I've posted too many or in the wrong format (that is of course if they show up at all once I press "submit") )

Here's a couple more, just of my favourite makes so far - apologies for the appalling photography, perhaps next time I do a night course it ought to be photography :rotfl:
I will stop posting them now:rotfl: Em xx :rotfl:0 -

thanks wen-tom
Jess - I love your colours in your makes - are the earrings Fimo? and did you mould any of the ring components yourself? I've not tried rings yet, it's on my list of things to have a bash at once the monsters are back in school
Shiprob - great makes - if you're branching out into children's stuff, I've found sewing daisies necklaces and bracelets out of seed beads goes down really well, I'll put a pic on of one I've done. I like your bag tags too - I made some bag charms for dd1's party bags earlier this year (she's gotten to the age where plastic yoyos don't cut it any more), but after having done 30 odd in 2 days they've scarred me for life and I've not been back to them since lol
have done it in pink and green too, but the blue is my favourite:rotfl: Em xx :rotfl:0 -
Fathertedsfavenun - thanks for the lovely comments. The ring is made of lucite flowers and a glass crackle bead which I attached to a ring blank, really easy but they go down well!
Love your daisy designs, are they difficult to make??
