I love brightly coloured tulips, they really lift my mood. Not an option this year, as I am watching the pennies.

  • I don't buy any flowers as they are an environmental nightmare.

The carbon footprint on flowers is worse than meat.

I love fresh flowers, normally buy them when on YS as they still last a good few days.

But for DH's birthday I got 3 good sized bouquets and they are still going!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

That makes me feel better about not buying!

    Necro-thread resurrected from 6 years ago.....
But still a nice topic. :)

Never buy cut lowers, we buy orchids, they can last in flower for months and even flower again.

We have one from M&S that is on its 3rd flowering and has been in flower for the last 4 months.

I use to buy them every week, although since having work done in the house this has slipped. I tend to buy them every two weeks now, not expensive ones, around £4.00 or so.

At the moment I have two massive bunches in my house from Valentine's Day and from when I finished work for my Maternity Leave. They really do brighten up the room.

So did my sister until my OH told her how to look after them.

She's got one in flower (that I bought her from Tesco for £5 in October 2015) that's on its second flowering and has been for over 6 months.

I don't buy fresh flowers at all, but I wondered why someone had dug out a thread that is six years old. Strange.
