I buy a cheap small bunch regularly, its my treat whilst I'm working as I love having plants and flowers around the house. My mum died when I was young and she always had a small bunch in the living room. I guess its what I'm used to and they make me smile. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

No, I've sown some sweet peas already. I have loads of stuf that should have been sown already....its on my list for THIS weekend, come what may:o
FWIW for those saying its a few days, the roses in my siting room right now I bought reduced because of date two weeks ago. The lovely tulips bought at the same time were gone after a week though.
Lilies....I think they are beautiful, but I can't stand the smell. To me they smell of wee.:o:o0 -

I buy fresh flowers religiously. I tend to avoid reduced bunches which only provide a day or two of transient flowering in favour of closed Lillies at £3 a go from Lidl which can last up to three or four weeks. They bring so much joy, it is worth every penny, frivolous or not!0

I love flowers but prefer them growing in my garden to being cut and indoors I do sometimes get some freesia or daffs in season ,but they go on the window ledge of my conservatory which is also the window ledge of my kitchen and I can see them through the window They last a lot longer out there than they would indoors I have at the moment a bunch that my niece gave me about three weeks ago out there ,the roses have died back but the carnations are still blooming well.My DD bought me a lovely red miniature rose in a pot plant yesterday as she knew I was feeling a bit poorly and brought it in on her way home from work bless her ,so that's out there at the moment .
I have lots of bulbs pushing up in pots on the patio and at the bottom of the garden so another week or so and they will be out and spring will be hear.0 -
Me. Well I do some weeks. There's an empty spot in my living room that needs filling with something and I keep killing pot plants. If I spend more than £80 in the supermarket I go without.
I love fresh flowers but don't spend more than £5.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
One of the joys in my life is cut flowers on my living room window ledge, my favourites are lisiantgus, such delicate heads.
They tend to last at least three weeks and give me such pleasure the cost is inconsequential. My garden has too poor an aspect to grow cutting type flowers apart from daffs but I won't cut them.
Daffodils are so beautiful too, those trumpet heads are shouting happiness to me!0 -

Our Daffs remind me of a fine long-standing member of the church I used to go to. When he moved from his big family home into a small retirement bungalow, he presented me with a bag full of daffodil bulbs and a rhubarb root out of his garden. They are known as 'Harrys daffs'. He died several years back. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have severe allergies to many flowers.....but I DO love to have them in my room.....they are so cheerful!
So I have a couple of jars of artificial flowers - I chose a couple of arrangements that suit the seasons so I can switch them around....I currently have a small jamjar with 'meadow flowers' (buttercups et.c) ....only yesterday someone commented on how much they liked my flowers and was surprised that they weren't real!0 -
I love spring flowers so at this time of the year I do tend to treat myself to a weekly bunch of daffodils, and the odd bunch of tulips and (if I'm feeling flush) some hyacinths. I tend not to bother much during the rest of the year as when it warms up I find flowers don't last that long.0
