    Chev - thanks for you comments. The OH is on board, but I do have to keep him in check on the odd occasion!

    Hello Queenie,

    I know I am over the moon about getting rid of a CC, one down and one to go! I do miss treating myself on payday, like yesterday as the weather was nice we went into the nearest city for a wander and OH had a voucher from xmas to spend. I did treat myself to a couple of things;

    - 2 scented candles as I prefer them to air freshners and usually light some in the evening whilst chilling

    - some skincare that i had nearly run out of, and as they were doing 'bonus time' i got 6 little freebies!

    - we had coffee and paninis for lunch

    But, i saw so many clothes and shoes and handbags, pretty dresses, loads of things, that I was drooling over. The last time i bought any clothes was in the January sales (and i got some really good bargains!) but as the seasons have changed (or not, as it appears lately) and the summer collections are in the shops I am now lusting after new outfits.

    The graze box was quite nice, i need to go on the website and rate what i was sent. I had;
    -pear tatin (dried pear and other fruit, almonds and yogurt coated sunflower seeds)
    - apple and cinamon flapjack
    -very norish (japanese seaweed rice crackers)
    - apricot torte (dark choc covered apricots, jumbo raisins and green raisins)

    I prefer olives and nuts to snack on personally, but loved the dark chocolate! Will be interesting to see what turns up this week!!

    Do you have a diary Queenie?

    Oh I bet that you are glad that last week is over and done will. Exams and me don't get on very well at all!

    Wow in smashing your target. That is brilliant - well done! :)

    oh yeah ... summer clothes in the shops *drool*. I'd love a new wardrobe of clothes. I think this is one of the reasons why I do so many surveys and the like because I like treating myself to new things that haven't cost any of my precious pennies.

    Yippee! Got my statement for CC2 this morning, and just now made the final payment of £800 - CC2 is gone forever! CC1 has £3065 left on it which is all the debt we now have left to pay!!!!

    As you will see from the target this month we have managed to get £935 together to go towards the debts, which has been paid off the cards already, but that means that we have gone above and beyond the £800 we were hoping for! I thought that the £800 would be hard to reach.

    Snozberry, i have been soo good and not bought clothes, when the debt is paid one of the things I will be doing is updating the wardrobe, but NOT putting it on a credit card. Can't wait!!

    Little update - payday was last Friday which marks the end of my May challenge of £800. As per previous post, we managed to actually pay £935 off the debt which we are really pleased with!

    Not going for it so hard this month, going to aim for £565 which will take us down to £2,500. Reason for this is that we want to get a few bits for the house and garden and maybe put some aside for a holiday.

    We also bought a lovely dresser off ebay for just under £200 last month, which we have needed for a while. Now I can put the crockery that is sitting in boxes in the spare room away tidily!

    Working from home today and looking forward to the 4 days off over the jubilee weekend!

    Signature update with new totals and target.

    Wow I can't believe that it has been exactly a month since my last post - where have I been? As it has been a month that means that I should have hit my monthly target and paid £565 of the cc, right? Wrong! I have hardly paid anything off it and the debt total at the moment is still £3k. This is because we are putting some aside for a holiday and we have also bought a few bits for the house to make it feel more homely. Looking back to where we began in January with over £9k of debt, I think that we have done well. There is still a long way to go though, and I can't give up now and undo my hard work.

    What we are going to do then, is save up for the holiday we have planned for September. If we save up for this it means that we won't have to add any to the CC, so although the CC isnt going down, at least it isn't going up. After September when we are back from the hols, the repayments will start again. I expect it will be Feb by the time we are rid of this debt, but as long as its going down.....

    Hi! Long time no post! Think that I am due an update on here. Well what has been going on? The exam that I took in May, I unfortunately failed, and had to do a resit. I am pinning my hopes on passing to pass the first year of this course!

    Debt-wise, unfortunately no updates. I have saved for a holiday however, which we will be taking soon, so although the debt is still there we have managed to get a holiday and not add to it!

    Good news is that my company will pay for year 2 of my course meaning that I dont have to worry about that!

    I expect that I will be back in to the swing of debt busting in September after holidays, so will update more frequently then. In the meanwhile, its all on an interest free card so no more damage should be done.

    About time I brought this diary back to life!!!

    Well, it seems that I gave up my motivation for debt busting and at exactly one year and 5 months since I last posted, I am still not debt free!

    What have I been up to???? Well I finally managed to pass year 1 of my course, as I passed the resit I mentioned in my previous post! I have also completed the 2nd year of my course (which the company paid for, no debt added there). Then, I decided to go for yr 3 which will upgrade me to a Masters (instead of post grad diploma). The penalty? A 15,000 word dissertation to write and another £2k added to the debt total in fees! (on an interest free CC, natch).

    Plus, 2 amazing (and expensive) holidays in 2013. All paid for from my bank account, not put on the CC though!

    Buuuuuut, as it stands, I have only £29.10 in my bank account. In 9 days time £25 will go out as a minimum card payment. And there is one week and 5 days to pay day. Not good.

    I need to tot up the debt, and I also need to update my sig. I need to get a handle on this debt, and I need to pay it back.

    I also need to find another job which pays more money. I am SORELY underpaid for my role and I am still on the starting salary that I was offered for this role over 2yrs ago. Seriously????!!

    So my aims;

    1. Complete my Masters degree - dissertation hand in April 28th
    2. Find a payrise!!
    3. Bust this debt
    4. Have a life whilst achieving the above.

    Follow me... it'll be fun :wink:
