    L2B thank you!!

Right now got a very bad craving for chocolate :EasterBun...... no chocolate in house. There are biscuits left over from Christmas; they should do the trick. Cookies with the tiniest chips of chocolate in them.

Very good spend-wise, last time I spent any money was Sunday. I am not planning on going anywhere this weekend, could it be possible to last a whole week???

Really need to find the motivation for this dissertation.... it's there somewhere (or it'd better be!) :wall:

    The reasons I can't start my dissertation;

    I am queen of procrastination
I thrive on the pressure of the last minute
I am a perfectionist by nature so already worried about editing each section that I am going to draft (just get the words on the page goddamit!)

At the moment it is all consuming - I am unable to think of anything else yet I seem to be unable to make a dent in the 15,000 words I need to write.

On the brain this evening........ imagining a life without dissertation (i.e. it is complete, bound and submitted).

........imagining a life without debt. Salary in - house money transferred to bills account - the rest is mine to do as I will.

........ one more day until the weekend. A weekend filled of procrastination of dissertation writing, and maybe a little dissertation writing. Perhaps procrastination by way of ebaying miscellaneous items and therefore tackling my 2nd most brain consuming issue???

Downloaded one article for reviewing for the lit review part of dissertation. Well, it's a start, isn't it?

Not spent a penny since Sunday, 5 NSD in a row. Not planning on spending this weekend. Couldn't even if I wanted to!

Planning on finding some odds and bits for ebay, after all a few quid is better than no quid plus it's a bit of de-cluttering stuff I will never use.

Looking forward to the summer months already. Planning on doing loads in the garden (might even do a bit of gardening as a break from the sun lounger. Provided we do have sun.)

Right... 3,000 words this weekend for me. Better get cracking.

  • What's your dissertation on? I am a last minuter, leave it all then mad cram to get it done. If you wrote 600 words a night you'd be done in 25 days. lol.

Hey there, It's on training and how we can improve the training offering in our organisation, so looking at things like group size, course length, types of training delivery, materials and exercises etc. I haven't worked out a title for it yet though! Bit backwards because I have already done the research, now writing the lit review, supposed to be the other way around!

I am such a last minute crammer too, which is why I am trying to aim for 3,000 words this weekend, then hopefully 3,000 for the next 4 weeks or so, then I should have ample time for editing and re-writing sections. We shall see!

April last year I had 3 assignments due in one day, left the most part of the work until the weekend before the Monday hand in day, worked all Sunday night until 4am Monday morning! But there is nothing like last minute pressure to get a job done ;)

I tend to write better in the evenings, so today I shall be going through some drawers looking for ebay items.

Good weekend for me as I haven't spent any money! I haven't put anything on ebay though, I need to get organised with that.

I took your advice L2B and I am aiming for 600 words a day, which isn't really that much at all and much more manageable. I have a very short attention span and find it really hard to evaluate more than one or 2 articles before I totally lose interest and drift off. So at this rate 600 words should see me have a good 1st draft of the lit review to edit in a couple of weeks.

Next weekend is mum's birthday so unfortunately I will have to put her gift on a CC but then I plan to pay it off immediately on pay day the following Monday. I just hope that whilst gift shopping I don't get tempted to treat myself!

  • Your dissertation posts are giving me flashbacks to my undergraduate dissertation! Glad I'm all done with that stuff. Getting started was always the main thing for me - I found once I had a plan and I started typing I was much better!

Hi Madhatter, agree the thought of doing it is always worse than actually doing it. Now I have some words on the page I feel much better but still a little panicky - my undergrad dissertation was about 14,000 and the hard copy is a pretty hefty document!

I wish I was done with my studying - and when I completed my undergrad I was of the mind that I never wanted to study again. Shame though that this qualification is pretty much a requirement if I want to progress career wise so unwillingly I signed up to a part time Masters.

Anyway the light at the end of the tunnel is getting bright and I hope that this year I will graduate!!! :)
