ok so let me get this straight... you have over 1.8K income each month of your own after tax (I shall discount your OHs income since this is "taken" by maintenance and old debts), the benefit of a company car and no mortgage or rent to pay and yet you are complaining that this isn't enough and you should get more help from the tax payer? I'd have more respect had you paid off you mortgage yourself instead of relying on bank of mum and dad to buy you a house... and before you try the jealous card nope I am not, my parents could more than afford to buy me a house or two but I choose to not accept as think they may need this money in later life and I want to stand on my own two feet.

No, she has a mortgage Lauzellan.......just like most folk! https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1872171=

Sadly your old man has stitched you up, he is only able to contribute £3500 pa to your partnership, and now you're looking for the taxpayer to help out, maybe you should have thought about this earlier ? I'm sorry you are not able to live according to your high salary but it is no ones fault but your own.
Love is blind so I'm told, or has something changed ?

Firstly the figures that are submitted to HMRC are genuine/true income & I do not like the suggestion that I would be deliberately fiddling the figures.
My assets are exactly that, my assets as my parents bought my house for me & I pay all the bills.
My oh does not have a issue with this due to the financial situation he is in so I dont really understand as to why you do???

I'm not surprised he doesn't have an issue with this. A home paid for by his in laws , bills paid for by his wife because she's on an excellent wage and he works part time for £2 per hour. He 's laughing!

Although she asked for advice in getting a mortgage in that post and I believe the Halifax had turned her down perhaps she couldn't get one and then mum and dad helped her out by buying a home for her?

Just a thought, and perhaps explains why she says she doesn't have a mortgage now.

    Many thanks guys.
My partner is a private hire driver so on paper he earns very little where as in reality its not financially in our interests for him to stop work to mind 2 children!
Also I feel it is important for children to attend nursery for educational & social purposes.
It frustrates me that my take home pay is so significantly less than my top line salary!
Im afraid in todays society you are penalised for working hard & wanting to give your children the best start in life!

Except that as the OP hasn't explained how both those statements can be true, he probably doesn't work for £2 an hour.;)

Thought that too - but then in other posts she talks about how the deposit came from her parents, and she had to pay £200 insurance or something because of that, as if the parents went bankrupt then the deposit in the house would be protected or something. She did get the mortgage through some broker after she was turned down.

Sorry, I hate liars, and hate people who make claims of something being said, but when shown to be wrong.......they throw a little tantrum and start their name calling :)

She came asking if she could get WTC to help pay for her childcare and then went onto put down stay at home parents and single parents being supported by the government. She doesn't seem to see the irony in that.
