  • Had a doctors appointment at 8am and had to wait until about 8:30am to be seen was just about to leave which would have got me in trouble when they called me in, I only wanted a prescription which normally is quick and in the rush I lost it so will have to go back, but finally arrived at Aldi at 9:05am to find out all the TV's were sold out was well diappointed, you think they would have ordered more stock if this is the case. Anyway a few questions I would like to know just incase they have any more in.

    1) Does it have Picture in Picture like the older model at 450?
    2) Does it have 2 Tuners like the older model at 450 and are they dig or Analogue or both?
    3) What is the maximum PC input Res?
    4) How many HDMI inputs does it have?
    5) Does it have DVI Input?
    6) Are brackets included?

    Thanks

long time now. They do indeed make their own displays as do Xerox, they're not in any way shape or form rebadged. .

They have only been making there own sets for 1year and thats because they bought the company that made and rebadged them for them as they went bankrupt

Polaroid entered bankruptcy in 2001 and the brand name was subsequently licensed to third parties. Hence, some of their products may well be "rebadged".

(1/2) It has picture in picture but - unless someone can correct me - it has only one analogue tuner. I imagine that picture in picture works between two different sources (for example vga and scart etc). Personally speaking, I think it's silly to bother about an inbuilt digital tuner, when a freeview box can be had for £20 and offers greater flexibility.
    (3) It's native resolution of 1280x768 - haven't tried out my pc with it yet. I'll see how it looks with an avi/DVD at this resolution later.
(4/5) One HDMI and no DVI - no need for DVI as HDMI has superceeded it.
    (6) No, just a stand.

I'm more than best pleased with the tv. Certainly one of by best bargain finds I've come across.

the lady in front of me said the same people were at the front each week, well i guess she must have been there too!!

...how many times have you seen Polaroid selling any kind of tv anywhere before?

    .

Once, the UK, in the late 1970s (parents bought one). It was a KIND of TV, that only played Polaroids own "video tapes" (sort of compact cinniecamera).
  • I managed to get one too...

At 8.00am my local Aldi gave people who were waiting (for the opening time of 9) a ticket which guarantees a TV (you collect your TV when the store opens). By 9.00am, all tickets had been given out and so only people with tickets managed to get a TV.

It stopped arguments as to who gets a TV or not and also the agression when doors open... so as long as you had a ticket, it was all good
