Re Aldis' 32" LCD TV offering - from my own experience of Tevion, their products are either a big hit or a big miss. But because I am dealing with nearly 4oo hard earned buckaroos, I've got to ask myself the crucial question; despite a 3 year warranty, is it not better to go for better quality even if the guarantee is shorter? I think it is.
So these appear to be the best options, in my humble opinion: :rolleyes:
* Teco/Aria 32" LCD TV @ approx £430 all in.
* Mirai 32" LCD TV Bundled Package @ £540 + VAT + delivery => £550 ish.
Teco/Aria basically the same TV and gets rave reviews along with the Mirai. The Mirai bundled package is nothing really to write home about but can save a lot of time and effort if looking for a complementary stand and cable.
I will probably wait 'til the sales to see if the prices drop...I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -

although i've never had a HD panel before i'm pretty impressed with the mirai. works best with component HD and hdmi inputs. progressive scan dvd upscaled and divx upscaled [via my hd streamium slm5500] look like different movies altogether. i'm really impresssed...SD telly via cable looks fairly average, mainly exposing the problems / compressions within the source....but we all knew this already right?
i do however have one pixel stuck on red. which is only noticeable if i walk right up to the screen. the source detection works ok, but cycling between sources can be a bit fiddly....
if anyone has any specific questions I'll try and help....0 -

Connected it to my laptop yesterday for a test and was very impressed no deal pixels and even at 1024/768 the pic was very clear (need an update to get the 13xx/7xx res) if you go through quidco another 8quid off as well.Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0 -
