I actually saw this offer in a Aldi store 2 weeks ago - the 32" TV was marked down from £499.99 to £389.99 as a "Managers Special"

    Huh??!!

Someone asked about stands. All I said was that Aria sells nice stands - I got my one from them for my 32in HD LCD Teco TV.

I think he's refering to a spam message that was posted after yours (but has been deleted now).

Can anyone who has one of these TV's see what the resolution it supports via VGA is?

    1024x768... I'm pretty sure.

I'll double check tonight though - it won't be any lower than 1024x768 though.
  • Whats the telly like?

Mine's still in its box until the new stand arrives.

Just got to decide if I need to get the dvd recorder 160gb with freeview at 100 quid from Aldi to go with it or have a lie in on Sunday instead.

Polaroid entered bankruptcy in 2001 and the brand name was subsequently licensed to third parties. Hence, some of their products may well be "rebadged".

Exactly right - the coming in of digital camera killed off the demand for Polaroids.

The Polaroid name is used by some budget brands to give them a better market presence.

  • If anyone in the Manchester area missed out on one of these and still wants one, they had I think 7 on the shopfloor of the new 'flagship' Aldi on Market Street in the city centre, as of about 10:15. I'm guessing they must have held some back in preperation for the new store opening.

The place was absolutely heaving though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've gone by now. Noticed that they're open till eight.

Dunno if the latest PVR Aldi sold was in short supply/a good buy, but I noticed they had some of them. No idea how many as it was a very fleeting visit.

The general concensus in our house after reading the millions of words on this subject was to go for the Teco from Techfever.

(Couldn't wait 'til after Xmas as old Goodmans box had packed up!)

Ordered at lunchtime yesterday - delivered mid-afternoon today - set up in 5 mins and produced a fantastic picture (if slightly 'hard' when compared with the old CRT one).

Not worried about the lack of in-built digital tuner as we have a digital PVR attached.

    Can thoroughly recommend it.

Just a word of warning to anyone thinking of getting this PVR - Mine went back within a few days - as did nearly all that my local store sold) - A good unit (if it would work) but the software is full of bugs and this applies to every machine

    - I will buy another from them, but only when / if they fix the problems

  • 32" LCDs are being advertised for around US$500 now over here - 400 quid is certainly not cheap...that's almost US$800!
