:eek:Tara, having read your posts loads of times, I knew that you were just trying to be helpful, but that your post could be misconstrued. Also, many people have posted things on here in the past, that aren't glitches as such, and the minute someone tries to warn them against doing it, they get flamed!!!
Nobody wants anyone to get into trouble, and yet we have had reports on here of people stating they are using Parent Codes, when they shouldn't, and then someone issues a warning - perhaps quoting a previous occasion, when the user had their card confiscated, and all hell breaks loose!
But I am just stunned about what's happened to foxy-lady, and would like to thank her for sharing her experiences with us, as awful as they are. I also didn't know that you don't have to give your name, go with anyone to an office, etc etc. Blimey, there are a lot of us on here who have cupboards crammed with Boots items, legally purchased through glitches. At one time, I had 33 x Bath Sumptuous!! Stay strong foxy-lady.

Foxy lady I am horrified at what happened to you; since I read it I have been pondering how I would react in the circumstances. I don't have an advantage card, I get the points on the receipt and give to my DD, but sometimes she forgets to get them put on in time. If you paid in cash and don't have the purchase logged on an advantage card, it would be nigh impossible to prove your innocence. Hard to believe it's innocent until proven guilty isn't it? Feels like the other way round.
The One-Show clip was interesting too, thanks to the poster.
Am a relative innocent to Bootsing, tending to keep out of there mostly to avoid temptation and stick to the Challenge in my sig!
Today, I managed to pick up a couple of Dove vouchers thanks to the aforementioned "tap, tap tap" process! Returned to the machine a few minutes later and it let me print out a couple more. So 4 Dove deos for £1.40. Will suggest DD has a go too!
Thanks, you-know-who!!
Having spent a fair few quid on P&P and contact lens solution, (100 points voucher thru the post, plus an over £35 double points voucher from the machine.......am I doing this right?????) thought I'd chance my arm using the £5 skinny on this http://www.boots.com/en/Time-Delay-Deep-Cleansing-Facial-Exfoliator_124582/
The SA was making it up as she went along and said "It's a £5 voucher so you can't use it for less" So I said it doesn't say that on the voucher. Then she said, "It says Time Delay cleansers and toners not permitted, in the small print" so I said," But but this is an exfoliator." Anyway, it wouldn't scan, so wasn't going to make a fuss and just left it.....then she gave it me back, plus another damn £5 off facial voucher!!
Anyway thanks for the tips!0 -

Wow- just had a read through as could see you were all commenting on a post made by Foxy-Lady and I was really wondering what had happened!
I was shocked they had acted so over zealously, for whatever reason but unless they can prove with camera proof or witnessed proof that you actually picked up an item from the shelf and took it to the tills they have no leg to stand on. Circumstantial evidence wont hold much weight and you don't need a good lawyer to point that out!
I would go straight to the CAB or similar (not sure who would be best to contact to be honest). I'd also want to contact Boots to raise a complaint against the security guard but guess you wouldn't be able to do that.
Its maddening and I hope the security guard gets caught out in this big time! I would want to contact the local press too but have no idea if you'd be allowed to do this prior to a court case- though others have done similar so doubt its illegal (just check first!). Would be worthwhile looking for the editors address in local papers for a story though- maybe even mentioning your posts on here.0 -
Omg foxy so shocked and scared for you.
Is it worth taking legal advice over defamation of character or compensation for worry and stress they caused you.
As based on what you say pretty sure they will lose criminal case against you.
Will certainly keep all my receipts from now on
I managed to get 6dove vouchers machie stopped offering them but happy with 6lots of dove invisible spray at 35p.
Sales asssistant was shocked but lovley and freindly she said shes not sure because shes staff but advanatage card never offers her any good offers
Have used 4shampoo/bath products a 3rdoff
original source -was on offer at quid in jan so 66p-brought 2
palmolive aromatherpy gel on offer at quid, voucher dident work though till, sat yhourght it should and put it through manually no issues.
For those a fan of lush bathbombs boots have a range called beuitifally delicious with money off at moment.
They have huge bath bomb papaya and mango alreadyon offer at 1.32.
Asked sa if my 1/3 offbath products would would work it she said she wasent sure would try was buying some baby clothes at same time.
It did take1/3off cant remember how much but made less than quid.
be lovley as presents as wrapped inbright red foil and taffetta bow.
Might see if machine give me anymore before 22nd.
Havent used shampooo /toothpaste ones yet but printed off any idea what best and cheap to buy with them?
2quid off anymascara when for cheapy brand2.99 so paid99peach had no idea natural collection were selling at 1.99 not sure my branch has that range will check its out of town retail park my nearest.
Do find security guards stare people out but never has any trouble.
Luckily not met a nasty sa yet
Got 2skincare vouchers to use still.
I think of boots offer you the deals personally which is what advanatage machine does then its fair.
Its their system that lets you use unlimited vouchers as long seperate transactions and also allows 1/3off already on offer products.
As for glitches like dove well only a few would find out by accident, maybe staff and people on here so dont think they would lose much from glitches as some so random.
Having worked in retail-not boots reason why works in some not in others.
well in food and guess so with other retailers.
every time deals change the price file is downloaded from headoffice to individual stores.
The price file is what changes products up or down or makes the deals/multibuys work
Now with food for instance where they have many different size stores price changes on same item
example tesco metro cheaper than express for same item
used to work for somerfeild 3stores 1long road all different pricing structures as different types of stores as customers always moaned.
Also different parts of country food prices seem more in london/southeast.
which makes me wonder if boots differnet based on store size and geographical location?
Once did accdentally pinch but went back.
was smallstore hometown.
was19andhad home hair dye disaster had long thickhair onebox wasent enough
went in boots to get hairdye must have looked a state.

realised to my horror still had mascara.
went back and paid for it felt terrible.

I bought this using my skinnie voucher and when i took it to the till the SA thought it was hand cream and said the voucher is only for facial skincare. I pointed out her mistake and she then tried to put it through and it wouldn't scan. In the end she overrode the till and let me have it, I don't think either of us realised that this time delay exfoliater is actually a facial wash thingy and comes under their no time delay cleansers exception. It was a genuine error on my part but was happy because i got it for free.:DThe devil makes works for idle hands0 -

Yes I found one in a different S&G set too - definitely worth people opening up gift sets they have stashed away for later in the year as the vouchers will have expired - although having said this I have already got soooooo much S&G stuff, don't think I can really justify getting any more, after all 200 points is only £2 at the end of the day for which I would be spending £8 I didn't really need to.....and even the present stash is groaning under it's own weight!!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
For those wanting cheap Sanctuary minis, these are three for £2.81. But only 26 in stock, so I think they will disappear fast

foxy-lady sorry to hear about what has happened to you, really hope you get it sorted soon as it must be terrible to be in that situation. I saw the one show item and was really shocked that this can happen.
