Cant see anything nasty running
Id give it a couple more scans to see how it is -
Download SUPERANTISPYWARE (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/
UPDATE and PERFORM COMPLETE SCAN
(Then goto console and LOGS and post the log it created then untick it from STARTING UP WITH WINDOWS)
...............................................................
Download and run the FREE version of DR WEB
http://www.freedrweb.com/download+cureit/gr/
Turn your anti virus OFF
Click CANCEL to its first question (Unless your happy to lock windows until its run)
Click NO to opening the purchase page
Click START
click YES
It will auto QUICK scan
Pess the STOP button on the right (Unless your happy to quick scan first)
After that set to COMPLETE SCAN the computer and press the 'play' icon
This will more than likely take hours (12 is average!), so leave running overnight or whatever
***DO NOT UPGRADE TO FULL VERSION***
reset the HOSTS file if it asks you
.................................................................................
Give the computer a clean (if you dont already use ccleaner)
Download CCLEANER
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim
Run the CLEANER scan (UNTICK 'cookies')
Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)
Hows it running?:idea:0 -
I did what I could re malware, but I really don't understand a lot of the tech terms (its only easy if you understand it), I think you can gadge my level of PC tech, with my stupid questions above (like not knowing how to turn my antivirus off).
The PC is running so slow & its quite a good machine, normally pretty fast.
Would the best thing I could do be to buy a larger external hard drive & back up everything to it (I have one, but I don't think its big enough, I don't know if that means its been saving what it can, or nothing) & wipe it all clean you can reset PCs can't you?
Its running terrible. You open a page & it loads (shows up) instantly, but its a few minutes before you can scroll, move or click on anything, it just freezes. It takes an age to do anything.0 -
Best thing to do is format and reinstall windows (or install a backup that came with the machine or is on the hardrive as a backup):idea:0

Thats correct
You would also need to scan the backup hardrive as soon as possible in case any of the files are infected:idea:0 -
Mrs E
if your still not running right -
UPDAtE and run another FULL scan with malwarebytes, post the results

Delete your copy of combofix, download a fresh copy and run another scan and post it:idea:0 -
My dad has just come to me with the exact same thing, I thought he had anti virus but obviously now he's told me he doesn't, neither me or him are very good with computers, so what would my best course of action be?The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
