Hi sorry i don't know how to make Dishwasher powder, but i do use the cheapo washing powder in the dishwasher. cost 64p from supermarket, own brand and that works a treat. I bought it about 2months ago and still have lots left. That's saved me a fortune with not having to buy Dish washer tablets/powder. Hope thats some help.

Demented (fab name by the way), which one do you use, as I did do this with I think it was Tescos economy and after a while I noticed some bubbles escaping from the bottom of the dw, though the dishes came out lovely and clean.

I wondered if maybe I put in too much??? I used about half the amount that would fill the dispenser.

Hi Larmy 16. I use at the moment Sainsbury's basics Biological powder.
white and orangey box cost 64p. I fill up about 1/2 - 3/4 of the powder dispenser thingamejig. I haven't had any problems yet and have been using this powder for about 2months. Do a dish wash every 2-3 days.
ps. My boss gave me that name, she said that i was jumping up and down like a demented hornet and the name has stuck eversince. lol

Use the point of a sharp knife and press down on the dishwasher tablet.

Also... do it while they are still wrapped to stop getting bits all over the place. A tip someone else posted some time back and I've found it very helpful.

I tried Wilkinsons ones once and what a mistake that was. The dishes came out just as dirty  so I thought I'd better stick to Finish ones. Perhaps I'll try the Sainsbury or Tesco branded ones?

I use asda smart price soap powder. A large box is about £1.50 and lasts around 6 months. I tried Tesco's economy powder bit my pots all came out with white dust on.
