I have a Miele dishwasher and when i said to the guy who was repairing my Miele washing machine about using soap powder in dishwasher he told me not to do it . Something to do with all the foam and the pump working overtime .0

There was no foam at all.
You must follow what the repair guy said.
But there was no foam. A few years ago my dad picked up the normal "fairy" type washing up liquid while I was out, he didnt realise until I cam back as he had fallen asleep in the chair but the kitchen was like something from the 18-30 party. It took forever to get my kitchen back to normal.
But I can safely say in my dishwasher with quarter of a teaspoon on persil type powder I havent had a problem and the dishes are very clean.
I think you must remember to use the vinegar in the final rinse.0
