Does your network show in Available networks? You can see this by right clicking on the PC with a signal sign in the System tray. Unless you have loaded the wireless utility that came with your router, in which case you will need to click on the wireless utility software icon in the system tray and check the available networks.
Also have you moved a wireless phone near your router?0 -
No haven't moved phone or anything else I can think of. Microwave is in same old spot too!
The network is showing on the list of available networks- when I click to connect to it (even though it should automatically connect, sometimes I need to manually do it- always has been like that) it thinks about if briefly then brings up the message saying cannot connect. When I click on diagnose problem- it talks about low signal. Makes no difference even if i'm sat by it- and like I've said- nothing has changed that I'm aware of.
You may be right- maybe I need to change the signal. I've never had to do this before- when I look on Wireless channel and SSID these are the options it brings up-
Wireless Channel >12345678910111213Extension Channel >210SSID > Wireless Mode > Off802.11g802.11b&802.11g&802.11n802.11n More Info Bandwidth > 20/40MHz 20MHz Broadcast SSID > More Info Protected Mode > OFF ON More Info 802.11e/WMM QoS > OFF ON More Info0 -
If all else fails, phone Belkin. If you still have the box the phone number is on there, if not get it from the internet.
I had a problem with a 5 yr old Belkin router some time ago, and they were brilliant, talked me through everything and when it still didn't work they sent me a new one!I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Wow that's impressive! Yeah may have to if it isn't something straight forward. I always find people on here so helpful though, always worth trying to fix myself first. I phoned them when I bought it as had problems setting it up- it worked in the end so they must have helped!0 -
It is possible that a neighbour has added an interfering device, but I think unlikely. Have a look at this link -

It's your router's manual. Look at the section starting on page 87, it gives you some tips on what to do in your case. It also mentions about changing the channel. Follow the tips if you feel confident about it and if you get stuck repost.0 -
Thanks- will have a look tomorrow. Your help is much appreciated. I'm not thick- just lack confidence!
I did say earlier the network was showing up on my laptop- actualy it isn't. I hadn't refreshed the list. So it isnt "finding" it at all.0 -
Just a thought, and apologies if you have done this.... but I have a vague recollection that one of the things the Belkin chap asked me to try was to plug the laptop into the router with the ethernet cable and try it with that first. Something about the router needing to re-recognise the laptop (and that is a totally non-technical explanation!)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hi, sometimes my laptop doesn't connect and what i have to do is.
goto to start menu,
click on run,
type sevices.msc, click ok,
scoll down list to wireless zero config, (in status it should say started)
If not, right click and select start.(sometimes i have to stop then start)
it works for me, but i don't know why:cool:0 -
Open your browser and type 192.168.2.1
Probably there will be no password to get in, just click submit. On the left side you will see wireless.
Check to see if your wireless is shown and not hidden (not likely to be the problem). Sorry to be vague but long time since i looked at a belkin router.
If thats ok, delete your wireless profile in windws. Search for your router and re-enter the wireless key if there is one, this should reconnect you..
As many have said mabe just pull the power from the router and reconnect that might just work.:)0
