Hi Savememorecashmartin!
It's a great feeling and super timing! I was also very worried at the propsect of reclaiming from A&L because there's very little about A&L on this site. My partner thought I was mad and I truly thought they'd set a precedent with me by actually revealing their costs therefore losing my case!
But I thought, to hell with it - I've got Martin on my side!
What's even better is that the whole process took about a month - with all those festive bank holidays in between.
Now go get them! And get all YOUR money back! :j0 -
If you look on the right hand side of http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/ You will see you are definately not the only one claiming/claimed against A&L0

I have messed up/mistimed a standing order and as a result, have been charged £25 (letter sent to me) plus £25 overdraft fee still to be added according to online banking for going overdrawn by £99 for 3 days  . Busy kicking myself as the standing order is from A&L to ... A&L for the Direct Saver and only ended up within insufficient funds because I paid back my stooze from credit card early. Currently very annoyed with myself  as I am fortunate in having funds available in other accounts, plus more with A&L, and could have left an extra £100 in without a proble,m.
Anyway, does the fact it is my fault alter the fact that £50 for 3 days overdraft of £99 seems excessive?
Many thanks

Hi Mark
if you go to the following link, you will see lots of people on the cag website who are claiming, and successfully claimed from A & L.
I am at the beginging of mine, just sent off the first letter, after calculating the charges.
Good luck with yours, keep on track with the instructions, and you will succeed.

I was with Alliance & Leicester about 2 years back and got charged £22.50 for being overdrawn by 13p. I wasnt really checking my statement during the period and before I realised the Charges had reached about £100. I confronted them and was told 22.5 would be wiped of if I paid there and then - which I did.
Now my question is can I reclaim these charges back from A&L?
and also they closed my account after I had paid the charges - is there any chance of me opening another account with them?0 -
