I have an A&L Premier Current Account which I no longer use but have kept on. For the past three years I have been charged £5 per month because I have not paid £500 per month into the account. All I have paid in is enough to cover the £5 fees & the a/c has never gone into the red.
This is obviously money they have received for doing absolutely nothing - can I claim it back?0 -
Check the T+C's, very difficult0

Do you use the free EU travel insurance that comes with a Premiere Account? If so then you are getting it for £60 per annum.0

Hi
I want to claim my bank charges from Aliance &Leicester (the swines!)
but where do I start? can I claim for overdraft charges and for charges for refused DD's? I am also going to close my account should I do this before I start my claim? will they take me seriously or laugh?
I am also not sure of the total amount and would have to get statements from them, which they will charge me for. It is prob only about 200-300 ponuds but i am so fed up of them and I want some justice!
Where should I start guys?0 -
Read Martins article. It has all the info you need, including template letters for each stage. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

So this was my previous post...Clemm_01 wrote:I bought my first house in April and opened a new account (as per Martin's advice) - the A&L Premier Direct account with a £1000 o/draft which I desparately needed.
So we all know what an expense it is to get on the housing ladder, and I've incurred £547 worth of overdraft charges and failed DD default charges between May and October 2006.
I've opened a new account, sent my two letters to A&L, received their standard responses (as others have noted) so I have now claimed my money online with Moneyclaim.
I'll keep you posted as there seems to be a distinct lack of people that have claimed from A&L and I'm certainly anxious!
I followed Martin's instructions to the 'T' and received the 'standard' letters from A&L then this morning, the date the defendant (A&L) had until to reply, I received a letter from their solicitors with a FULL REFUND including my court fees!
I am just so happy - this money is certainly needed. I was nervous about this whole process especially since I couldn't find many success stories with A&L but I suggest you all GO FOR IT!. Just follow the instructions given on this site and you'll be laughing! :j0 -
Congratulations, a good start to the New Year.:T0

I haven't issued the court claims yet, i was wondering if there is a time limit for donig this? I am waiting for them to action a power of attorney on my mother's account to see if i can speak to them to get the money back directly, rather than go through the courts. If i have helped, use the thanks button!0

Clemm,
Nice one mate - I have just started the process with A&L and to date I've had no reply to my first letter. Then I found this thread which tbh wasn't that posititive in places but the fact that you've got somewhere with them proves that it can be done!!!!! I'm happy bunny now - and I bet you are too.
Congratulations, how handy is that cash going to be at this time of year!0
