Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
I'm not sure Nappy ... probably best to contact the court if you reach this stage. Maybe a case of getting the baliffs in if they don't comply, but this would be last resort I reckon.
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

Hi Nappy, It's beginning of next week, i have just called wragg and co again and still no one is available to take my call, i have left yet again another message. I would be happy to settle for the charge amounts plus court costs and not the interest but at this rate i don't think i will even get offered that as i can't get to speak to any one.............argh, it's sooo frustrating esp as i'm at work during the day so it's not always possible to call out or receive calls.xx

    Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help me.
I am trying to help a friend reclaim from A&L and so far they have not sent any bank statements back after requesting them in the middle of April.
so its now getting beyond a joke!!

Can anyone tell me what letter to write next to the financial ombudsman, as we have already threatened A&L with this and they still havent sent anything.

I'm sure there is a template on here somewhere of a letter to write but i cant seem to find it.

    Can anyone help??

    many thanks in advance!

Quick update, finally got a call from Wragg and Co and made them my offer, they said that they would let me know by post if the offer would be accepted as she had to refer with her client. I asked if she could call me to confirm as the court date was only a week away, she said it would be in writing and the court date next week was only a preliminary hearing.Bit worried as she did not seem to bothered about getting it settled by next wk, i guess i will have to wait and see.Was your court date a preliminary hearing Nappy?? xx

I emailed the person who was dealing with my claim,
you should have a name at the bottom of any correspondence with a direct number, i used this number plus i emailed every day, if it does go to court you will be ok.
Ive just seen your last message!! as far as im aware, no, it wasnt a preliminary hearing, but to be honest, i dont think the court want the hassle of it coming back to court, so, just wait and see what happens with the letter that comes your way. All correspondence do come via letter, anyway if it does go to court at least you have tried contacting wragge, so if they dont reply, you have tried your best, which will look good to the judge, but the way my court day went, i wasnt asked anything only the amount i was wanting to claim.

  • I am with the Alliance & Leicester and about to reclaim bank charges. Although I have read the list of what can and cannot be claimed for I am still a little confused. It says on my statements every month 'Monthly OD Charge £8.00' - can I claim this back?

  • I sent my data access request letter, and within the 40 day period I have recieved absolutely nothing from Alliance and Leicester, no confirmation despite chaser letters being sent recorded delivery, although they were pretty quick to cash my £10 cheque!!

I sent an e-mail to the managing director of A&L this morning saying I'd be taking court action against them if I don't get my info in the next 7 days. We will see!!

Sorry you've not had any response. They were quite quick with me; I sent my letter and cheque off on the 11th July and the parcel with the statements arrived on the 22nd July.

When i was wanting my bank statements, i kept ringing the customer services, as mine went over the 40days, has yoyr cheque been cashed, find that out 1st, then ring and ask them where they are, as your cheque was cashed on whatever day (thats if it has been cashed).
There should be notes written against your account, if you have requested your statements, appartently there wasnt any notes against my account, so ai sent another cheque and mine then arrived within the week.
The gentleman that i spoke to was able to request my statements whilst i was on the phone, but then the letter arrived asking me for my£10 again, which i did send, but at least i got my statements,
Hope this may help you, its just if you have the time to ring them and keep ringing, even if you say that you want to complain, about the way its being handled, you should get to speak to the manager of the team that you are ringing, thats what happened to me,
Let us know how you get on,
    Nappy
  • Well after sending an intial letter to Alliance & Leicester asking for £418 with no interest (from Martin's first template) and then them refusing. I sent a second (again from the templates, threatening court action) I'd added more charges by this time and it came to £545; they offered £66. I refused this and told them I would file with small claimes if I didn't get all back. They sent a letter (and a leaflet on complaints to the ombudsman) stating they felt charges were fair so no payout.

They may be trying to steer people down the ombudsman route as this looks to give them more time. I've just raised a claim with the moneyclaim site and I'm looking to reclaim, with interest £555.68. It cost me £80 to file.

So here goes, will let you know outcome in 14 days or so! May not be a lrage sum but it's my bloody money!!
