I've read for months now about people not 'having luck with A&L' when they havent settled early, but surely the point is that it would be easier and better if we got a definitive ruling? say if it went to a higher court? I for one would be up for it. Come on, someone has to take a proper stand, not just hope they 'give in'.
Come on A&L, let me be the one to face you properly. I've done my homework, and more than ready!0 -

I think the whole point is that there is no definitive ruling by the OFT on bank charges as a whole so, at the moment at least, we have no choice but to "play the game" and go through the small claims courts for claims of £5k or less. If there was an alternative, we'd definitely know about it.
It does seem crazy that judges don't have the power to strike out these cases in the claimant's favour (though I'm sure they do when they can), as it's just a complete waste of their time.
I doubt you'll have your chance to see them in court, they have too much to lose.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

Did you include any 'extras' in your bundle? Such as the Peter Mcnamara interview, or the Wistleblower summary? Anything else you think may be useful?
Thanks.

No you're fine, you don't have to submit anything at this stage. When your local court write to you re. a hearing date, they'll give you "Directions", i.e. certain documents you have to submit within a given number of days. This will normally comprise of a Statement of Evidence or Witness Statement with supporting documentation (i.e. copies of all correspondence and legal papers), which will form your Court Bundle. All legal documents can be printed off from the CAG site.
For now, just keep all correspondence you've sent and received re. your case in date order, together with your bank statements (the ones with charges on). Make sure the charges are marked with an asterisk at the side as highlighted areas don't always copy.
Hope this helps and keep us informed.
Hi,
I have just received my letter from my county court giving me a hearing date of the 18th july 07. I am now at a loss of what to do next !! In your post you refer to legal doc on the CAG site can you please let me know where the docs are because i can't seem to find them !! Is it worth getting the legal stuff sent off to the courts and A & L ASAP or leaving it to nearer the 14 day limit ? I phoned my court and asked about the questionaire that everyone is going on about and they said there is no need for them anymore in bank charges cases !! Is this true ??
Many thanks0 -
Well i called them up and they just kept saying that the charges are very clearly stated on the back of the statement. I called up to complain that they charged me £34 for not paying a standing order to my own savings account!! Well it seems they'd rather pay more out in wages for someone to look into it all! Time for my first letter.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Hi All!
Well today fianlly received letter from Wragg &co stating intention to defend, and in the smae post delivery letter from A&L offering 780.00 including court fee.
Although my claim is for 1865 plu s120.00 court fee it still feels tempting with the cheque in envelope.
Guess I will write and refuse and cancel nice cheque:(
