Hi Tugrin, I have been thinking about you today and wondered how you were! Well done on self-levelling the kitchen floor! That is a real achievement. :T
I am in a slump today, just feel a bit defeated, but hope to feel better tomorrow when I'm less tired!0 -
Hi
Sounds like you are doing really well if you've self levelled a floor today!:T
Just wanted to say if you want to get an idea of your water usage, go on to Severn Trent Water website, click on the 'save water' logo and then on the 'audit your water use'. It will give you an idea of how much water you use and where you can cut back before deciding on a meter.
Good luck and you will get there!0 -
ill focus some positive energy on you guys tonight during my meditation and remote veiwing tonight hopefully give you a little boost for tommorow0

Hello Everyone
I have self-levelled the kitchen floor today and although shattered I feel as if I have atually achieved something!!!
I have to make the token payment tomorrow to MBNA, John Lewis and Barclaycard before the Halifax get wind of me having a DMP and freeze the account. Really helpful lady at the CCCS said NOT to give creditors any details of my new current account and that sounds like very good sense.
Also managed to cash £10 worth of 5 pence pieces which I intend to live on for the next 3 days if I can.
Well done and best of luck with the spends.
Do pop over to the money saving old style forum and have a read. You might consider a store cupboard challenge? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Hi Tugrin,
I see you live in East Anglia - are you within reasonable distance of Chelmsford where I live, becasue I would be pleased to give you a hand with practical things such as deep cleaning the bathroom (grouting etc) and tidying the garden etc.

What a lovely lady you are, I am always amazed how many kind people there are on these boards. I hope you have a great day. :A0 -
Morning everyone
I have been suffering slightly for all my mad diy dashing about for the last couple of days but I telephoned EDF today and they have offered me a 'new tariff' which will see my monthly bill go down from £80 to £58 - obviously they wouldn't have thought to offer it to me unless I asked (why?- is it ethical to take more money from people when you could offer them a better deal???????) so that is good.
I have done a water audit as suggested and shamelfully seem to use far more than most individuals so I still baulk at the idea of the meter.
Have found a cheaper dog food for the pooches that doesn't seem to make them go bananas so that's another £3 a week saved AND I found the most amazing recipe for vegetarian sausages online which are delicious and once you have stocked up on the ingredients are cheap to make (google steamed vegetarian sausages - sound ghastly VERY good).s
Simply dreading going back to work on Monday - as I have already said to ERIC'S MUM, the place makes me really ill -stress which cmes out as joint pain and nausea-but have stocked up on painkillers and anti-depressants from docs so I'll just have to shut up and put up until the next holiday.
Thank you to all those who have been such a help this week - I hope I may call on you again in the coming weeks when work gets too much and I am tempted to try and spend my way out of the misery.

Hi Tugrin,
what a week, you must be very pleased with what you've achieved diy-wise and money-wise.
If only we on this thread could work out what you could do to make work a bit more enjoyable. Could you have a serious talk with her about how you feel (how she makes you feel ?).
Anyway enjoy the rest of your weekend and try not to dread Mon too much (I know, easier said than done). Would it help if you popped on here every day after school to have a bit of a rant (keep it clean-ish though !)
Linda xx0
