Microsoft Money - Auotmatically Updating Share Prices
Comments

I'm aware that very soon that the share feed will disappear but as yet have not found an alternative for my needs.
If the share feed totally packs up I'll still stick with MS Money - too much history and it does everything I need as far as tracking outgoings/income. For share/fund prices I'll resort to using a combination of the hle-ofx-quotes tool and manual updates.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

I've not come across this add-in before - does it handle UK Shares and Fund prices? And what symbols does it use?
Data comes from Yahoo Finance, below are samples of the data I've pulled of for shares and currencies, don't know about funds - expect if you can add it to a yahoo portfolio then you could get it into excel through this add in - only point of note is that the times are USA but that's easily adjusted in Excel.0 -
Unit prices stopped updating for me 8th or 9th March. UK Share prices are still updating.:(I'm now seeing the same thing. Share prices have updated OK but the last funds update I've had was the 8th or the 9th.
Have just done another update - shares and FTSE100 updated OK AND funds have also updated but, for these, the update date shows 17th or 18th of March. So, I can only guess that Microsoft's server doesn't get fund updates daily. Anybody else with similar observations?Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

After my last post, I changed all the UT ticker symbols in Money to MEXIDs, to match the data from FT.com. I also turned off downloading of UT prices. I have now changed one ticker back to its original value. I'll let you know later if it works properly. It has apparently downloaded a price for today(Monday), same as Friday's close, but I won't believe it's working properly until I see the price change.0 -
Argghhh. My share prices were updating fine, even this morning. I start Money just a minute ago and it says something about an update, I just click OK and then the ability to update share prices has gone.
Microsoft have deliberately removed functionality from the software, even though it was still working!0 -
I've just opened the backup of my Money file, which works perfectly. It appears the update only disables the feature in your Money file.0

Which of course is why you must always untick the "Update money" box before you update share pricesEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
