It might be nothing, but the only thing I would mention about university "debts" are that most universities have a clause that if you owe them money (tuition fees, library fines, accommodation fees etc) they will refuse to give you your award at the end of your studies.
I'm not sure if parking "fines" come into this, or how using a third party company or the fact the car is yours and not your son's etc etc. However if the university decide that your son is in debt to them he might be in trouble.
However I do agree with the others that you shouldn't pay them, but I think you need to check how far this will go. I do think £100 per fine is absurd! My uni hand out £5 fines for parking without a permit and parking on double yellow lines etc and they manage it themselves.0

someone has mentioned this and i dont think it will affect him, but i will keep it in mind, thanks for replying, i will keep and eye on it and contact the uni once the threats have stopped for advice-im sure if this was true at all the uni will write informing him of this-though to be honest the parking firm have my details from the car-for all the uni know it could be anyone parking there-my daugther owrks 5 mins from the uni so in theory she could be parking there
i cant see how thay cna link private parking charges with someone who attends their uni-well thats my hope xxx

Remember they have come after you the RK you are not studying at the Uni! Also the supposed debt is owed to Excel not the Uni! the Uni may get a £10 from each "paid" invoice.0

Also the supposed debt is owed to Excel
No supposed about it, there is no debt to excel Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common? Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
