my son is at uni-he drives there and tho living at home he often stays over on campus with his mates
last term we paid 2 demands for £100 parking offences...and another last week then low and behold THREE came together today...
Having reached the end of my tether i came on here and have realised this is a scam? should i just ignore these-they have come to me as registered owner of the car, in my job i cant afford anything on my crb so dont want to end up in court!!!

Excel are very well known on here, if it says parking charge notice on it, just completely ignore them!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • hello
    thanks for the reply
yes it says in red 'notice to owner of intent to issue court proceedings' in red
and liability for the parking charge notice......
very official looking and scary !!

I get the impression you are the registered keeper? Note that if you insure the vehicle for him, when he is the main driver (which he is if he is away with it at University), this is called insurance fronting and is in fact insurance fraud. The car really should be registered in his name and insured with him as the main driver, then the charges would be posted to him. In the event of an accident both you and your son could end up in a whole load of trouble which would come up on your CRB as you took out the policy, see http://www.abi.org.uk/Media/Releases/2011/01/Motorists_cutting_corners_risk_driving_illegally_warns_the_ABI.aspx

first: stop worrying. excel follow a pattern of behaviour identical to all private parking co's: they're out to screw you out of yr hard-earned dosh. they're going to bully you. they're going to threaten you with legal proceedings. they'll tell you they're mad,bad and dangerous to know. they'll tell you they drown puppies for fun.

    IGNORE THEM.

second: study the shedloads of case histories on here; you'll quickly realise why you owe absolutely nothing/zilch/diddley squat.

third: gird up yr loins for more fake threats than most people receive; you made a mistake by paying these vultures in the past. now they think you're a soft touch.

fourth: kick your son's sorry !!! for the unnecessary stress he's caused you.

Do as advised and ignore them, you as the registered keeper have no obligation whatsoever! However as you have paid in the past they will believe you may cave in and pay. So expect some threatening letters.

This can not effect your CRB which I assume you mean "Criminal records bureau"! Or your CRF "Credit reference file"! They may well threaten that it will but they just plain cannot. Only way is a defaulted credit agreement or a unpaid county court judgement. Which Excel wont do as they have been spanked in court so many times already!

Also as advised its best not push them with any more, given a hand full they could fancy their chances at court!

Those demands are like chain letters, just bin them.

Your son may well be parking "properly". Excel could be sending you an invoice every time they see his car because you have paid them twice and they think you are a mug.
They are not fines, just ignore them.
