Your son may well be parking "properly". Excel could be sending you an invoice every time they see his car because you have paid them twice and they think you are a mug.
They are not fines, just ignore them.

That thought crossed my mind as well, you are talking about an industry where they tell a pack of lies with every invoice, all they see is a payer and will do anything for money!

    Just ignore the cowboys !
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • i never even considered that-he is adamant that there was NO ticket on his windscreen on any of the occasions-but to be honest this is a bit like the little boy who cried wolf, because he is a proper walter mitty !!! billy liar and the usual way you know hes lying his the fact that his lips are moving
dont get me wrong i love him to bits but hes sleeping soundly while i didnt sleep at all, KIDS !!!!!!!!
i arent going to pay but i know i will worry myself to death as the letters escalte-and given theyve had a few successful bites with me they will see juicy pickings and keep coming
just one question-if it ever did by the remotest chance get to court and i wasnt the driver-which i wasnt-would they just throw it out as i didnt have a case to answer or pursue my son????

They are relying on the law of contract to sue! You never entered into a contract as you never parked! Same as your son could not sign a contract in your name!
You are under no obligation to tell them who was driving. Although they say you are by quoting the RTA and other silly laws.

If they knew your son was driving and could prove it, they could go after him. However unless they have a picture of him parking the car next to a sign they can not prove anything.

As others have said it has been known for them to "repeat invoice" you paid once you might do again?

You are completely in the clear they have no way of suing you.

It will never go to court, because they will not know who to pursue, if by the remotest chance you got papers from the court, one of your defences is yes you are the RK of the vehicle, but you were not driving, and as I have no legal obligation to inform you who was, it will go no further! They could not pursue your son unless you tell them he was driving at the time, just file away all correspondence in regards to this, and live your life.

  • and thanks esmerobbo you too are wonderful, i cant promise not to stress more but shall try to just file the letters and move on---son has admitted he has overstayed the ticket time but says there were never any tickets on his car so assumed he hadnt been caught!!!
i cant decide who i am angriest with him or excel, but either way they are NOT getting another brass button out of me!!!

I'm currently ignoring a handfull of invoices from various PPC's for my daughter (also at Uni)

The only concern I have is that if she continues to gather these bits of loo roll there might come a time when the PPC may think it could get a decision & chance it's arm in the Small Claims Court, whether they'd win is another matter.....

I have made it clear that she doesn't get any more... accompanied by a nicely placed right foot up her ar5e :)

this is another concern--if he keeps gathering them like he is it might be a worthwhile venture to chance their arm....so i have stopped him using the car at all for uni-he only has it 4 days a month while i am away with work and one evening round his job and has created parking havoc in that space of time !!
so unless theres more to come in last few weeks there should be no fresh incidences.
and i have more than kicked his !!!!...but tbh im sure it goes in one ear and out the other...so removing the car sems the only option...........

There is a chance as it only costs them £25 to £100 to go to court not really worth it for them in case they lose. However if the had £600/£700 pounds worth to claim on they well may have a go.

Would be easily defended but you always take a chance at county court as although they are called a judge they are little more then a solicitor with as little experience as 5 years!!
