  • There is a mystery shopping thread here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2923524 on the up your income board. The second post has a list of lots of the companies so i just plodded my way through them (I don't even think I am halfway down the list and I find lots of work I like doing). There is lots of inspiration on the up your income board in general too.

If you total up everything you can possibly throw at debts per month it will probably add up to a decent amount, especially if you are doing lots of little payments, which you don't always really notice but over the month they make such a huge difference. Best of all just think about once all the debt is gone that cash is yours to save or splurge as you see fit. Our Debt Free date is down as April 2016 but should have already shuffled forward. 5 years down the line all the kids will be in school full time so i can work full time too and earn more and then once we free up our debt money we will be amazingly well off in May 2016 - what a difference a month makes eh!

    Right off 'shopping'

Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)

Thanks im going to have a look at the up your income board and see what i can find ive already been so impressed with the OS board! ive got some stuff i can ebay too but need to sort it out (and actually have money to post it!) and ive got some things to renew soon so im going to quidco them!!! i can honestly believe the difference a day makes! yesterday i seen no way out and today i have a great feeling!!! all i need to do is get through the first few pay days (which will be hard ill admit) but then i should be able to get a routine going and be able to clear some money! i may not have enough to clear big numbers every week but i can pool everything ive got together and pay it off when i get it!!!! am i a freak but i get a buzz like shopping when ive gotten cash back or put some pennies aside lol

    Have a lovely Sunday :)

Ok ive discovered by the help of the lovely non judgemental people on this board that i may not be able to pay off huge chunks of my debt today next week or next month but i can make money and plan and save so that i don't get deeper and can pay something when i have it!!! so here is to starting slow and going for the best i can do!

  • Hi ya, just popping in to say good luck....the first few months are hard cos your breaking in new habits but it does get easier and once you start seeing the debt going down you'll start feeling better about it.

Try signing up to some challenges, these will keep you motivated. I love the 1 debt v 100 days challenge. Its about taking baby steps and making small changes as you go along.

    HI Tink

hope your well and well done on your LBM

I know it's frustrating to think you're not getting anywhere but bear in mind it takes a long time to get in debt and a long to time to get out of it but once you have the determination you're whole mindset changes and you';ll be turning down things to buy that you thought you couldn't live without x x x
