Can i ask what a house elf is??? Am i really that think or is it code for somthing???

    Iv wonted to ask before,

He is my 6 year old son George AKA Grumpy the House Elf.

Its her wee boy Halight, Cranky used to call him Grumpy the house elf, but she hasn't said the grumpy part for a while, so I'm guessing he's cheered up a bit :D

I am tickled pink at the thought that Halight thinks you are cooking and knitting for some imaginary friend, Cranky :rotfl:

Umm, he's still grumpy quite a lot, but it's diluted by school quite a bit these days. I bought him a trampoline, so if he's really got a weed on I send him and the cats out to the garden for a bounce.

    Afternoon all,

Early call this morning, OH had to be in hospital for warfarin test at 9, then went for cuppa and sarnie (breakfast) and on to Lidl to do shopping.....got €35 worth of wool and a new enamel roaster....nice big pot, very light but what can you expect for €12.99. Spent €80odd on groceries, so no more shopping for at least 10 days. Before MSE I shopped every week come hell or high water, I last shopped on 28th Jan, so am beginning to get rid of storecupboard mountain..no longer panic if we run out of something, I substitute something else. Got 3 lbs of mushrooms for €3 so will use some to-day and dry the rest for future use, trying not to use freezer for a while, want to empty it and start labelling every time I put something in there...yeah, right!

Cranky, sorry to hear that your arthritis is playing up, hope it eases up soon. No ideas on what to do with the house elf and getting up in middle of the night....I know that it will ease when he gets to be a teenager as they can sleep for weeks at a time, also know thats a long wait for you!

    Mrs MH...hugs

Lowesy...glad to hear you are doing well.

Misty day here, thought that it wasn't cold and am wearing short sleeves indoors, but will have to get a cardi soon as the cold is getting to me. Dinner to-night will be steak, onions, mushrooms and wedges. OH just made me a cuppa and gave me a slice of the gingerbread he bought this morning, it is my lunch though as not hungry so will not have anything else until dinner around 6. Will probably have another slice of the very nice ginger bread as pudding, will have the rest of the pineapple we had yesterday too.

Going to do a bit of knitting this afternoon....knitting a dress for my doll, Margaret, who will be 58 in June and badly needs a new dress....need to do something about a bonnet type hat too, as she has never had hair. Would really need to knit 12 hours a day for months to use up the wool stash I have acquired, small bedroom is almost full at this stage, must do a bit of organising as it has no bed but we have 2 spare mattresses we put down there when house is really full!

Having our soon to be adopted dog Mossy for the weekend, as DD3 and BF are off to Kerry, his dad is retiring this week and there is a party, hope it stops raining as the house will be mud all over otherwise.

Kind thoughts to anyone I have left out, hope your day is as good as possible.

    Marie

Meant to say JackieO...I never had a granny but if I had I would have wanted her to be exactly like you!

When I was his age I was a far, far worse sleeper than him. I used to stay awake for hours when put to bed and still get up early. He does at least go to bed and go straight to sleep...he just gets up a bit too early. He has 2 meals before he goes to school :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

i have this rather silly diy idea---if i could find someone who had the time and honesty i would love to let someone stay in my bournemouth home and decorate the place whilst having a holiday there--i told you it was stupid!!!--it really needs to be decorated and given some tlc---i need new bedrooms and if i could get it done--a new kitchen--the current one is servicaeble but the tiling is manc!

  • hello all

didn't manage to post yesterday but did read thread.

set up a new joint bank account this morning following Martin's advice :money:am much happier with this one.

    bacon rolls for lunch mmm

can't decide between the Tesco or Waitrose Valentine meal deal for £15, but think it will be Waitrose as there is one in town otherwise it means a trip into Worcester.

have been trying to fix DD's laptop that is having a nervous breakdown at the mo  think I've found out what's wrong and need to re-install the bootup on the hard drive, and I'm not an IT genius :rotfl:so that should be interesting!!

hope everyone is having a good Friday, hugs xx
