[/URL]Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 11th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Thanks halight and all to follow,
Dark & mild here. Need to de-clutter a cuppa and shower and then be off with my packed lunch - hm bread & lo frozen sliced meat.
Dinner tonight will be Moussaka or pasta & ragu. Ragu made and potatoes boiled yesterday after work. So tonight I'll prep the aubergines, make cheese sauce, slice potatoes and then layer up the moussaka. I've not done this before, but I know I won't want to make everything from scratch when I get home from work. Fingers crossed this will work.
Not much housew%rk happening here atm. Still maybe I'll catch up over the weekend.
Not caught up with the thread at all, so hugs and high fives to you all as appropriate, Happy Friday, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Not much happening today. Work then home for a rest
After the excitement of the last few days it'll be nice to go back to normality.
Thank You to Butterfly Brain and Donny-Gal about the information on Low Carb to control Insulin Levels in PCOS, although I don't believe in diets I am looking into Low Carb alternatives to my current eating and cutting down on Bad Carbs and increasing Good Carbs within what I already eat. So I hope this will help me in the long term. So Thank You again guys, you're amazing x
Hope everyone has a great day xxxWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Morning all
Packups made, breakfast eaten, fish fed & hubby dropped at the station.
Raining here again this morning, Saturday is meant to be dry, I hope so as I'm fed up with washing all over the maiden & radiators.
No real plans for the weekend apart from playing handmaiden to hubby's impression of Percy Thrower/Alan Titchmarsh & trying to finish some curtain altering.
Meeting at work yesterday re academy status, seems that teaching staff could be losing a lot of their perks but we admin staff don't get any perks anyway so have nothing to lose.
I was given a good moneysaving tip yesterday, for those of us who are well endowed up top, don't waste money buying lacy chemise to cover our 'excess' use the top of old knickers, cut off the waistband & 3 or 4 inches below, discard the crotch & back. Sew this into the neckline of any tops that are too low to wear on their own.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Thanks to those asking over my dad,he has not been well,he seems to pick up any infection going at the moment, but being at home seems to suit him better, and he is eating loads.
Huge Hugs to Mrs MH, hope you are ok xxxx
Have good days all x0 -
Morning everyone - in a rush this morning to get to physio. Been showered and eaten (bacon from freezer) and just composing myself for the day ahead!
The drive to York was lovely yesterday and I took the scenic way back rather then all up the main drag.
Busy work day today, well that's just normal, and I think I'm culturing a sore throat/cough which I need to nip in the bud somehow.
Friday night means take-away night. Even though I'm doing hard-core LC I still enjoy my chinese and only have the main meal and not rice or chips.
Hope everyone is feeling better, almost better or almost feeling better.0 -
Morning all
Overcast, wet underfoot and rain forecast again! DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. I got up at 6.00am and did the last day of the week's running training programme - made my legs ache today towards the end, but yesterday did aerobic exercise which was lots of legs and bum exercises ouch! Needed a bit of a lift yesterday so went to the scales a day early, have lost 2lb this week, so am very pleased but I have worked hard for it! Yesterday was a bit dis-jointed went to hairdressers, and had got the date wrong in my diary, they had got me booked for last week, but couldn't fit me in for yesterday so will go back next week! Went to collect my car from being repaired, the garage have made a lovely job of it and I'm really pleased with it.
Did manage to do some housework, the little bit of ironing that needed doing and attempt a menu plan. This morning I will be going to the bank, couple of jobs in town and doing the food shopping - hoping I may get some baking/cooking done too. Sent nieces and my friends daughters 1st birthday prezzies to them yesterday, can't believe they're a year old already!
Have a great Friday everyone, and a good weekend.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning folks, Wey-hey its Friday. Thank goodness, not enjoying my job at all at the moment but hey-ho I am thankful I have got one -its just so stressful all the time. Not much planned for today, need to pop to the building society to get another passbook, as I seem to have mislaid it somewhere within the house, but a small direct debit goes in monthly and I would like to see how much exactly is in there. Will meal plan and organise shopping list tonight while having a glass of wine.
Washing machine has been on since half five, and dishwasher is on at the moment too, so the house is looking relatively not too bad. Its a choice this morning do I walk to work and not have time to hang out the washing or do I take the car and hang out the washing - what a major decision at this time of the morning :rotfl:
Well had better move or it will be the car and no washing out!Every days a School day!0 -
