hi
I've got the same call and they asked me to come to Leeds this weekend and then they will explain everything to me.They said I won a holiday to Spain and I will receive a latter from them in next few days, and I have been asked to bring my ID as well.
I really confuse now sholud I go or not? £29.50 is ok for a holiyday if it's true,
If the only thing is listening to them for some advertisement,
I can listen to them up to 2 hours if the holiday is realy true
I'm so confuse now if it's really true or not???
I looked at these web site as well :
www.exclusivelifestylepassport.com
www.2minutedraw.com
so advice me now sholud go or not ? is it true or not ?

They got my name from the Ideal Home show. Cant someone trace it back to who passed it along and prosecute them if its not legitimate?
OK now I have more details, you first spend 2 hours at an exhibition 50 miles away from home and have to proove your identity
Then they give you a voucher.
Then they give you a holiday to choose.
If your dates are free.... its OK
If your location is free.....its OK
You pay £30 per person for an admin fee.
You pay all airport additional costs, taxes etc which they say are £32+ per person.
Its 100% self catering

Hi masoud.
Welcome to MSE. Hope you enjoy it here.
Simple advice. Don't go.From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Its not really a scam its timeshare! You go to a presentation, they show you a video of their resorts, they give you coffee and cakes, answer your questions etc etc at the end of it you just say NO NO NO its not for me. They give you a prize for attending ie a weeks holiday with flights but you get a form and you have to choose several dates and airports so you need your holidays to be flexible, not school holidays, I have friends that have been and loved it but it is hard sell!0

Hi Locke, if you do a search on timeshares you'll find the cost of this "free" holiday is over £500, and that's if you say no to the timeshare. If you sign up it'll be anywhere from £50 - £150k over the lifetime.

Just this minute had the same. Number that phoned me was 01268 557600 & they told me to phone 0800 988 9904 right away with my security code, as I had won 7 nights holiday to either Spain, Portugal or the Canary Islands. I googled CLC Hotels & found this forum.0

They are also using the following number: 0800 9880335, which I won't be calling to claim my free holiday! Not sure how they got my number as I haven't entered any competitions to win a holiday.
Hope they call me back!;)0 -
I have just had this call. The senders number (which I'm aware can be fiddled) was 01268 885650 and a guy with maybe a European accent told me to call 0800 988 9901 and quote reference 401pol5
Now I did fill in a survey, which was back in July, on the way home from a Thomson holiday. Surely Thomson wouldn't associate themselves with a con? :-)
Just before I rip the piece of paper up, this _is_ a con isn't it, theres no chance that it can be true? Lol!0 -
Had a call last week from this company too - got the bumph thru the post and another call asking if we can make the confirmation date - I said maybe lol. Not driving 2 hours to the middle of nowhere - sit for a couple hours more - then 2 hours back home again, rueing the day. 'The OFT advise that because Holiday Clubs are not covered by timeshare law there are no automatic cancellation rights for those who change their minds'. And with a name like Club La Costa you can bet its not a timeshare!!!

We got the phone call but because we got £25 worth of argos vouchers for going to the meeting we went along. It was a long presentation (4 hours ish) but we turned down the deal. We got the £25 worth of vouchers and the offer for a "free" week in spain.
Well we took the risk, it wasn't free just heavily subsidised and me and 3 others went to the costa del sol for a week for less than £60 each. You are obviously staying in very nice accomodation because they are trying to sell it to you. We expected to be mithered but instead we were taken out for the morning after being given a breakfast and shown around benalmadena harbour. We arrived back at the resort were shown a few show apartments and then asked if it was for us. We said no and they said thats fine (they are not paid on commission so there is no pressure sales).
We were taken back to the apartment and enjoyed the rest of the week.
We arrived back yesterday and had a fab time. They see 90 people per day on these "free" holidays but i can assure you its not a scam.
If you can be bothered spending a saturday morning being shown a presentation and a couple of hours in spain being shown around then go for it. We are normaly very sceptical and don't know what made us do it but we are really glad.
My sister is now going to go for it and take us as the extra 2 (she came with us on ours) and we'll continue to abuse it for with as many family members we can. We were told by our rep that we could do this so yay!!
The scams are the ones whocome up to you on the streets, that has now been made illegal in spain but i still saw plenty of people doing it.
