    Hi!

Am I glad I have found you all!!

I have decided to return to WW to get me disciplined into losing weight.

I am a tad overweight and would like to lose at least a stone for Glastonbury at the end of June (well we head down there on June 22)

This new pp system is going to take a little getting used to, I kind of remember a lot of the old points so I will have to wipe my memory and start again.

What's going to be very difficult for me will be interesting packed lunches.

I sometimes have to work away and due to a bad back I can't carry tons of food to work along with my work bag. One extra shopping back is the max.

Obviously it has to be money saving (why else would I be on here!!). Also I am cutting down on bad carbs which I find really helps my IBS so I don't like to eat rice, bread, pasta, noodles etc which narrows it all down quite a bit!

I currently bring a pack of cooked meat or fish or fresh soup along with fruit, walker lights and snackajacks. This is very boring!

Can anyone please point me in the right direction where I can find packed lunch ideas?

Oh well, hope you've all had a successful weekend and can feel the lbs dripping away!

    Good luck all.

    Hello all,
I have joined WW again ( haven't been for about three years) and am quite liking the new propoints so far. Love the 49 points, and the free fruit. I'm currently on 32 points as I have a fair bit to lose, so can imagine it's going to be a bit harder when I'm down to 29 but feel happy so far.

    Start weight 15st 10lb
    Weight loss week 1-3lb
    Week 2- 5lb

    so 8lb loss so far!

Need to lose weight for two reasons-
Daughter's 18th in November and I'm determined to be slimmer for that. ( Especially as I weighed my starting weight on the day before I gave birth to her!)
Have been getting a few chest pains which are currently under investigation. Possibly only acid, but even so if this doesn't frighten me into losing weight then nothing will.

I won a 3 month membership to a gym a few weeks ago so hopefully that will help me too, am going to try and aim to go 3 times a week as I am doing the Race for life at the end of June and I would like to try and run as much of it as possible.

I know this is a continuation of an old thread but it might be nice for us newbies to be introduced to the regulars? ( Just a suggestion)

    Hello!!
I have rejoined ww. 1st week done and just lost 5 lb! I am amazed. I haven't really felt that hungry. I eat a tin of fruit salad (free) with a ww vanilla yoghurt (1 point) and I cannot believe how full that makes me. I cannot get my head around not counting fruit as points. Was at ww a year ago so on the old system. Begrudged paying out for the new books and calculator....until tonight - I am well chuffed! To just grab an apple or banana if I'm hungry is just brill. I used to hesitate when I was on it last year because I used to rather save it up for dinner. I haven't dipped into the 49 weekly points at all, but its nice to know it is there. What does everyone have for dinner? I like different ideas. I'm tending to have ww or tesco light choices meals and filling up with loads of veg just because it's easy with the points, but I'd like to be a bit more adventurous? x

I've had roast dinners, pasta with chicken, sardines on toast ( two rounds of thick bread plus sardines=10 points), scampi, omelette, Breaded chicken and chips and I'm planning on having salmon soon as it's sitting in the fridge. I couldn't just have ready meals as I have the whole family to cook for.
I'm definitely using my 49 points at the moment, as I worry that if I don't use them at the beginning and then do use them my body will think I'm being piggy!
I bought the eat out guide this week and that's come in handy as we were out today so had Pizza express and knew how many points I had left for a snack tonight!
  • Hi everyone,

I went to my first ever WW meeting yesterday and was very impressed. The meeting was at 9am so I started the day feeling really enthusiastic and motivated. Unfortunately the glorious weather meant I spent most of the day outside drinking lots of wine.:o
So I now resemble a beetroot (applied suncream to late!) , have a fuzzy head and am feeling a bit sorry for myself. At least it was on day 1 of my week so I can hopefully catch up during the week.

    Good luck to eveyone.

    40SMxx
  • Good to get off to such a flying start! I've found it hard this week ( week 3) as I went out for a meal on Thursday night, used up all my 49 points so have had nothing spare since then! I won't make that mistake again.... Only 1 more day till weigh in.
  • Right folks another newbie!! I have done ww before and I got the propoints info before I left but have never followed it. I have 41 points per day to work with and I think I can figure out the points for most things. The key for me is keeping a record because I do tend to kid myself that I haven't had too much (or beat myself that I've had too much, when maybe I haven't). So by writing it down properly I will know exactly where I stand. My other mission is to get fit. I am doing a charity walk up Snowdon (highest mountain in Wales) and I am very unfit as well as much heavier than the rest of the group doing the walk! I am determined not to be left behind!! Good luck today everyone, Heather xx
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D

    Hypnotherapy rocks :j
  • Welcome Heather! Had my weigh in today, only 0.5 lb lost so I'm a bit disappointed but onward and upward....
