I also hate gift cards for the kids, I usually end up buying them off them because the shops never have what they want or the things are MUCH cheaper off the 'net. If you can't be bothered to think about what to buy as a gift then give CASH please! :D
Ooh, I sooooooo agree. I hate vouchers as gifts; on the rare occasions I have to buy a gift, I'd sooner say to the recipient "Look, I don't know what you'd like, please tell me."

Ooh, and I've just had another canine guest booked in, for 6th to 9th May.:T:T:T:T:T

I'm off to varnish that door now.;)

  • Okay update :) and a sit down at the same time :) (See DH I am sitting down ;) )

My eggies arrived to hatch. (could be emotive if they dont) I've got the incubator on to try this, just brining them up to room temp before I chuck them in. No idea how this is gonna go.
If it works, 6 hatching eggs for 99p could make either v.cheap eggies or v.cheap meat.

    Curry done and in fridge
Soup cooked but needs blitzing - thinking about investing in a stick blender - but where the heck would I keep it :rotfl:

  • I've been busy all morning outside the house, so am about to get changed for a HHE (or probably more!) then pick littlies up from school and will do the list later this afternoon / evening :)

Yesterday was a really rubbish day for me - it was one of those really rare days were I just couldn't get my head in the right place :( I spent the day feeling really sad, but lighting a candle and thinking about people I have lost really focused me on what is really important....so got my head right again last night and I am back to normal having a lovely day today :D

Ok - I have been slightly more productive...

Have made stock from chicken carcass and have transferred said stock to SC with chicken and some bits lying around to be used up and am going for something slightly oriental... lets hope it turns out ok.

Manky black bits are appearing by the door frame and round the patio doors (I noticed this when I acutally cleaned the patio the other day).... Anyway - that has now been bleached within an inch of its existance.

Think im going to bake a cake and use up some of the stuff in the cupboards....

My DH told me for Christmas 2010 to surprise him as there was nothing that he wanted. He wasn't impressed when he got NOTHING for a present. I told him and all other usual recipients that if they can't be bothered to tell me what they would like (even give me a list of things they'd appreciate and I could pick and choose from it) then they'd likely as not get nothing in future . I've already received a list of things from a couple of friends who craft who've said 'any of the following would be appreciated...' makes my life so much easier:cool:

    Oooh well

I havent got much more done, had lunch then a friend rang and was on the phone to him for over half an hour. Then I got washed, dressed, switched cakes in oven and mum turned up. She has just left and I have done fluff all.

The cakes are both cooked now and cooling. I have sorted out the brushes drying from the painting and throw out the icky glossy ones and pulled the recycling bin round to go out tonight.

I am also clomping about in a pair of boots with a heel (I never wear heels) which I am wearing at the weekend so need to get used to. I normally live in slippers or trainers so feel a bit oo-la-la and wobbly :rotfl:
