Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

oooh - hope you feel better now? :D DH calls it MeadowHELL and said in 1996, I'm never stepping foot in that place again, 15 years and counting, he said the same about Ike@ and has threatened the supermarkets too... all of them.....

I also hate gift cards for the kids, I usually end up buying them off them because the shops never have what they want or the things are MUCH cheaper off the 'net. If you can't be bothered to think about what to buy as a gift then give CASH please! :D

We call it Mhell as well ;) As if I needed another reason NOT to go this was it!

I very rarely buy gift vouchers, preferring to buy a present for the person. When I am short on ideas or time I have gone down the gift card route but this has taught me NEVER again!

    OK and breathe, lunch anyone?

I'm joining you, lovely homemade potato salad and a well earned cuppa, before I rush off into the fray at 1pm for another HHC if anyone wants to tag along?

Other gifts which have been a pain are an Aston Martin experience day for OH, he didn't want to go alone and you can't take children to watch and as we have no babysitter, that never happened and a wine tasting/vineyard tour 350 miles away from us and that didn't happen for the same reason. I extended them both for an extra £20 each when the year ran out but I'm not paying again. Lovely thought but a complete waste of money.

    Afternoon all

Skimmed through the thread - hugs to all the poorlies

Been to the Crematorium this morning and sorted out what to do with Dads ashes, spoke to the Reverand to arrange appointment for him to see Mum and me to discuss service, took Mum's car to the Garage to get fixed again, came home and there was a message from Heating Company to say that our compensation claim for flooring that they told us to take up [needlessly] and the kitchen cupboards had been passed on to the contractors who done the heating, phoned them and they are coming out this afternoon to look at what needs doing - major S&S done, more needs doing but I've ground to a halt. Also going to pick up a TV unit that I won on Ebay for 1p [have said we will pay £5 as I'm too embarrassed to hand over 1p]

So we're busy, busy, busy here

    Love and hugs to all
Take care everyone and have a nice afternoon

    Hi all

I only joined in yesterday and fell at the first hurdle .... so to speak ! Walked dogs, worked and met up with a friend in the afternoon as planned but the afternoon meeting somewhat extended, however this was lovely especially as it was such a nice day. Was all set to get going in the evening and somehow managed to pour boiling water straight from the kettle over my hand, dont ask how as I really dont know how I did it ! fortunately most of my hand was not to bad but have a nasty and painful burn on my thumb so all the evenings plans went to the wayside.

Have got a few of Mondays list done this morning, along with 2 loads in the WM and 3rd one on, but had have to go to work now. Todays plans :

Monday ~ Living room/family room or other reception room!
    Level One
    Declutter and vacuum the floors!
Wear something purple light a candle and remember Diva and other people we no longer have with us but carry forever in our hearts - will do this today , sorry Diva that I missed yesterday, will light my candle for you later
    Level Two
Vacuum under furniture you can safely move!
    Dust and deweb.. done
    Level Three
Polish glass, mirrors and pictures - done
Fill a binbag of clutter and fling it

    Extras
    1. Wash any soft furnishings that are ickified - one of the throws will go in the WM later
    2. Clean out a cupboard.. any cupboard
    3. If you are able/weather permitting go do your necessary garden jobs. - will be sorting out my seeds
Tuesday ~ Kitchen and Dining Mess
    Level One
Sweep, vacuum and mop floors - will sweep kitchen floor and maybe mop it ....
Declutter and wipe worksurfaces - kitchen is a bombsite so will start gently and just do one worksurface
    Shine that stinky sink
    Level Two
Clear out a cupboard.. The one with baking supplies or the one with pans and plastic boxes.. GO!! Or you could, if you have one, clear the pantry! - wish I had time to do this today !
Wipe and replace small appliances.. Clean one thoroughly!
    Level Three
Wipe units and large appliances.. don't forget kickboards! - will wipe friedge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine
Dejunk window sills - will try and do this today ...

    Extras
    1. Wash/replace any scanky dishclothes/sponges etc
    2. Sort out and restock medicine cupboards
Thanks again for letting me join in , will catch up with the thread later .

  • Hi all.. I've not been here for ages but saw the sad, sad news about Diva last night .. what a shock.. :(
Her lists always made me smile as she always said feed the cat at least twice, and I always thought wish I could get away with twice with my greedy kitties.

Hope everyone else is keeping well.. x

Well the heating man has been and measured everywhere up and they will get back to us about when it will all happen. Probably not till March - I seriously want the Feb and March to be over and done with as I'm so fed up with it all
