Now don't get me wrong. I am a Norn Iron lass so I loooove a floury potato. I just bought a bag from a farm shop (25kg) and was so happy to find they are floury.
Unfortunately my family don't agree. They hate them! When I mash them, I put milk in the mash to soften it a bit.
Any good recipes/ hints out there for things to do which are relatively healthy, but mean that my spuds aren't as dry?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I would have thought that floury spuds would make great roasties. What variety are they?0

slice raw and layer with onions in an oven proof dish, cover with veg or chicken stock - whatever is your preference, and bake until cooked. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Not a clue what the variety is. It doesn't seem to be marked on the packaging. They really are very dry. I can do roasties, wedges etc, but not everyday.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

JackieG, I have tried that before and it was horrible. No one would eat it. Don't know why, but it just tasted oniony and was quite watery. I might give it another try.
Must go now as have lots to do and I have been lurking on here for ages!!! Will check in later and see all the lovely suggestions!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

You could always try a layered potato bake.0

You could also use them for spanish tortilla
I think I have a proper written down recipe for the potatoes, I'll see if I can find it, maybe you just need to sort your quantities?
