I had a potato for lunch today, nuked in the microwave, sliced, cheese sliced on top and grilled, a little chilli sauce drizzled on top. Nice!

I like baked potatoes. I also like a recipe my friend did, but haven't gotten around to doing at home ... and that was a basic mince mix (ie onions, mince, herbs, stock cube .. ) plus sliced potato on top and baked .. delish!!

That said, I have the infamous potato pie (with ham addition) on my meal planner for next week.

    Carry on.:D

Interesting article but at least on here you get recipes. So frustrating to see something was good but no recipe.

Awww I ran a search as well  , couldnt see it anywhere!
Thanks for adding it though. OH was rushing me last night to get off the puta for his go, so must've missed it. (always blame the OH;))

Anyway back to potatoes. Does anybody know of cheese and potatoe swirls, we used to have them at school a few, ahem, years ago and I loved them but never seen them anywhere else. They were basically just a swirl, probably pipped, of cheese and potatoe and probably baked in the oven to finish. Not very good description I know but if theres any dinner ladies out there? ;)

Kika - that did annoy me too. Especially when he mentioned the potatoe cakes for breakfast, Id really like to try them but no recipes! I'll google them I think.
  • Hi,

OH cooked last night and steamed all the spuds he brought home from his allotment:rolleyes: I've now got 3 lbs of cooked potatoes in the fridge that I'd like to use up today (cooking for 5).

I've also got cream that must be used today and stacks of eggs.

All ideas welcome please (sooooooooooo determined not to waste a scrap of food in this house if I can:D ).

    Anni
