When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Morning everyone  I have really fallen off of the DW wagon over the last week - the stress at work has been at an all time high and I haven't been coping very well :o so I think this weekend I really need to regroup, work out where I am at and hoist myself back up on the wagon...

So I will:
  • be focused at work to get through priorities
  • breakfast, lunch & dinner from stores fruit for snacks/2ltrs of water
  • take a look at budget and see where I am for the rest of the month
  • go to the gym straight after work (really need to be dealing with my stress in a better way)
  • going out after work with oh - again for medicinal reasons ;) - will work out what I can afford & stick to it!
  • have checked for surveys and none available
  • think carefully about the 4 pages of clothes I am watching on ebay!

ok that'll do me! Have a great day everyone x

    Good Morning Folks,

As I did all the shopping yesterday I won't be going out today, but will be:

    Making fresh bread
Possibly make a cake (I bought Butter and Bicarbonate of Soda so I suppose I'd better!!)
Go through the freezer to sort out next weeks meals
Get organised and put some things on ebay
Make some Leek & Potato soup for work
Have a bottle of wine off the rack

I hope you all have a good weekend

If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    £2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

  • Good morning every one and thanks to DNMS for starting the thread.

Woohoo it's the weekend, and this time I'm determined to make the most of it. I usually get to Sunday night and wonder if I've actually had a weekend! :(

    So far I have:

    I will also:

    • phone MIL with free minutes
    • nip into Mr T's whilst out
    • make some biscuits
    • make a 'Hummingbird cake' for the weekend - diet out of the window for a day :rotfl:
    • move fruit bushes and rhubarb if it doesn't rain
    • lunches and dinners from stores
Must also get on with some of my 101 things list as time is ticking away - today is #401 so only 600 days to go

    Today I will be:

    1) Going to the market to buy my fruit and veg

    2) Returning a dress to River Island for a refund (not forgetting my postage charges under the Distance Selling Regulations)

    3) Going to an exhibition at the British Museum, hopefully using some free tickets my cousin is getting for us.

    4) Maybe bake some brownies for work on Monday (technically, this will be a spend, as I'm not doing it for any reason in particular, but I want to practice my baking skills to save money in the long run).
