marmitepotato wrote: »Morning everyone,
this is the first time I have posted on this thread (please be gentle). I spent another sleepless night with my mind in overdrive because I was made redundant on thursday from a wonderful job I have been in for 9 years. We dont actualy shut until May and I have been given a good package, but i am in mourning for myself, and the freinds I have worked with these past nine years. I know i will move on from this but at the moment its too raw.
On top of all this my beloved old dog is ill. she has been to the vets on wednesday as she has a swollen paw, OH and I have been giving her her medicine and putting cream on her paw without fail. This morning she didnt want her breaky (laced with antibiotics) and is laying on the settee looking very sorry for herself. I think I will see how she goes and ring the vet if she doesnt pick up.
the good points of the day.....I have done my washing and its all blowing dry nicely on the line!
P.S. originally posted this on yesterdays thread this morning. Thanks to jackieglasgow who told me to post this on todays.
Welcome to the daily:j:j You shall fit in here just fine:)
Sorry about loseing you job. I lost mine 2 years ago. But i was lucky in a way as the place did not shut and they had me back just under 12 months later. Im still there but only on temp contracts which are ongoing. I worked there fulltime for 11 years before i was given the push. Over a six month time span 42 i think were got shot of. Only 3 of us have been asked back.
As i said yesterday who knows what fate has in store for our lives???
Good luck on the job hunting:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
jackieglasgow wrote: »marmitepotato, my dog won't take her food at all if there it medication in it, we give her the pills rolled into a ball of peanut butter or that chicken paste you get in a wee jar, and she always takes it that way.
She will usually eat it if its ground up and hidden in a nice tin of dog food. she usually gets dried food every day so tinned is always a treat for her and she eats it regardless of any hidden elements!! I have given her her Metacam straight into her mouth with the plunger thingy they give you to dispence it. Hopefully she will pick up after a sleep and the painkiller starts to work.
Jackie, hope you are feeling better yourself. Thanks to all who sent me good wishes. x0 -

Not been on here all week. Was working Mon and Tues then DS was off school poorly the rest of the week so have been kept busy;)
To be honest has been quite a good week...he has been calm and not many anger tantrums. I think it is school that makes him stressed. It was nice to not have the stress of getting him there etc.
He wants to go into sheffield quickly this morning to get more magnetic letters so he can do his weather forcasts on the fridge:o....he has 2 tubs of them but still runs out of certain letters when writing his Yorkshire towns:rotfl:
Happy Birthday Poppy:T.....I had my big birthday last year and it isnt as bad as you think;)
DS had a couple of nosebleeds last night.....has had a few recently so not sure what is going on there....
Also on the lookout for things to cook DS for teas as he informed me yesterday he is getting fed up of hot dogs on Tuesdays:p......it is him who makes these rules for himself then he gets fed up.....only things he will eat are sausages, HM chicken pie, Meatballs and spaghetti and fish fingers:o. Having said that he has come a long way....there were times when he only ate about 4 things in total, same meals everyday.
need to get some washing done today too and some baking.
DH making pizza for tea later.
Have good days all

Good Morning All
Many Happy Returns Poppy Dog - have a lovely day :j
Got some bad news yesterday, my uncle was diagnosed with cancer at Christmas and passed away yesterday morning. I know from the last time I saw him that he wouldn't make the chemo and that he didn't have long but it has happened much quicker than I thought. My cousins are in the 20's & lost their mum a few years ago so my thoughts are with them at the moment.
After received the phone call didn't get much done yesterday. So will be busy today. Have 2.5 hours on my 2nd job and loads of washing and ironing to get through. I did manage to give my fridge a good clean out yesterday and boy did it need it.
Have sausages out to have in rolls for lunch, not sure what is for dinner. Think will wait till OH gets up (worked last night) and have a route around in the freezer then.
Very windy here still, neighbour knocked last night to tell us that our swimming pool was trying to get in his garden, so DS,DD & myself managed to get it back and weighted down with the garden table!
Thats it from me, have a good one.x0 -

The swimming pool made me smile:p:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Thanks
Halight it wasn't fun at the time its a 15ft pool (or should I say was) trying to climb up my neighbours wall I was just drifting off to sleep when the neighbour knocked - certainly woke me up scrabbling around the wind in my pj"s. DD did find it funny and stood there giggling and was as much use as a chocolate teapot! Lol, must admit when we got back inside I did see the funny side.0 -
Morning all
Overcast & mild here this morning.
Hubby is in the living room putting together a greenhouse! Later on we are off to order some extra decking, the gazebo hubby bought was bigger than our existing decking so he plans to extend it, I'm at the 'smiling & nodding' stage. Whatever he does will look good in the end. I saved the extra Christmas money he gave me so we have that to use to pay for the garden improvements.
DW & WM both on, can't see any of it drying outside, so it will all go on the maiden, upstairs & downstairs both need mopping & I have some curtains to shorten for a work colleague, so that will bring in a few exrta pennies. The dog sitting I should have been doing over half term has been cancelled, but considering hubby's sudden interest in gardening, that's probably not a bad thing.
I know we probably shouldn't spend money on the garden when I'm threatened with a pay cut, but hopefully hubby will grow enough veg to lower our food budget.
I've added a couple of extr pics of the new DGD on my blog, please feel free to ignore if you are bored with them.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
ps EG, my neighbour knocked on morning to tell me that my parasol that I though someone had nicked was in her garden courtesy on the wind.

Morning all
Nice to see some regulars back and new posters (even though I'm newish myself).
Happy Birthday Poppydog
Marmite Potato hope doggy is ok
Very blustery today - the cover has blown of the patio table and chairs and I have a feeling it was weighted down with a large terracotta pot so will have to inspect the damage soon.
Having a lie in for a change - very enjoyable.
WM will be on and if I can keep the washing on the line it will go out - triple pegs might be needed. Not sure about dinner yet - will be something quick as going to a friend's concert this evening.
Need to do some decluttering - I can see piles forming in various palces and it's starting to bug me!
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Morning all
Poppy-dog - Happy Birthday have a fab day
Marmitepotato - welcome!
Very windy here too, unbelievably loud overnight, big waves this morning when the tide was in!
I had a very good night's sleep for onceI did wake in the middle for an hour but slept solidly either side, and the world didn't spin too much!
I really enjoyed last night at my neighbours, it was a nice chilled out evening.
I'm meant to be going out for lunch with old colleaues today but to be honest I'm not that bothered about going. Although I feel better today (but this can change throughout the day) I'm not really feeling very socialable still. I may see if my 2 best friends fancy a spot of shopping at the out of town centre by me so I can get out for a bit. Otherwise I'll just be happy here, I may watch some movies, plus I have uni work to do.
OS wise - WM is on, DW will go on. I may batch cook some soup although it depends on freezer space. The flat is spotless from my tidy for the letting agent so it's nice to know I don't need to clean it today
Have a good day all
