Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Fri 4th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

Good morning BB and all to follow.
I am sure my washing is breeding, I did three loads yesterday and there's still loads more to do :( It is cloudy and very windy here.
    Got to make bread today.
Dinner will be roast pork, roast potatoes and roasted veg with hm apple sauce from last autumn's windfalls. Will have DS, DD, their partners and all five grandchildren.
Altered a pair of trousers yesterday - got three more to work on.
DW and sink will all work overtime today.
Hope to come on later to read the thread. Not keeping up well this week.
Hugs to all who need. Happy Saturday, Silver x

    ETA Morning silvermaid!

    Morning All,

Up at stupid o'clock this morning, even though I promised myself I wouldn't, so I thought I'd log on for a half hour. The WM is on and I am feeling a bit brighter this morning. It will pass by around eleven though, and I will go back to bed, I have been to the Dr twice this week, and for a scan, and they tell me there's nothing they can do for a couple of weeks and I just need to go back and get another scan done before they decide if I need any treatment. I hope not, but I also hope I don't need to go through this every month. :(

Hugs to Paula and family, sorry to hear your sad news.

Have good days all, hugs to anyone else who needs or wants one.

  • Morning everyone,

this is the first time I have posted on this thread (please be gentle). I spent another sleepless night with my mind in overdrive because I was made redundant on thursday from a wonderful job I have been in for 9 years. We dont actualy shut until May and I have been given a good package, but i am in mourning for myself, and the freinds I have worked with these past nine years. I know i will move on from this but at the moment its too raw.

On top of all this my beloved old dog is ill. she has been to the vets on wednesday as she has a swollen paw, OH and I have been giving her her medicine and putting cream on her paw without fail. This morning she didnt want her breaky (laced with antibiotics) and is laying on the settee looking very sorry for herself. I think I will see how she goes and ring the vet if she doesnt pick up.

the good points of the day.....I have done my washing and its all blowing dry nicely on the line!

P.S. originally posted this on yesterdays thread this morning. Thanks to jackieglasgow who told me to post this on todays.

  • marmitepotato, my dog won't take her food at all if there it medication in it, we give her the pills rolled into a ball of peanut butter or that chicken paste you get in a wee jar, and she always takes it that way. :)

    Morning everyone :D

Still really windy here but then again I suppose we're a bit overdue for a winter storm. Plans for today are to take something back to local town for a refund and then this afternoon we're all off to a friend's house. it's her birthday today and we're having afternoon tea there :D

Not much else going on bar the usual Forth Bridge stuff ;)

Poppy-dog - Happy Birthday have a great day

Jackie - Hugs for you xx Take it easy.

Bargainbird - Paddy? Really after all those rugby players that who your subconscious chose for you to dream about :eek: :rotfl:

marmitepotato - Hugs for you. Sorry to hear you're being made redundant from a job you love. Hope your pooch decides to eat their breakfast sometime this morning xx

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good Saturday OS or not.

Not been on here all week. Was working Mon and Tues then DS was off school poorly the rest of the week so have been kept busy;)
To be honest has been quite a good week...he has been calm and not many anger tantrums. I think it is school that makes him stressed. It was nice to not have the stress of getting him there etc.
He wants to go into sheffield quickly this morning to get more magnetic letters so he can do his weather forcasts on the fridge:o....he has 2 tubs of them but still runs out of certain letters when writing his Yorkshire towns:rotfl:
Happy Birthday Poppy:T.....I had my big birthday last year and it isnt as bad as you think;)
DS had a couple of nosebleeds last night.....has had a few recently so not sure what is going on there....
Also on the lookout for things to cook DS for teas as he informed me yesterday he is getting fed up of hot dogs on Tuesdays:p......it is him who makes these rules for himself then he gets fed up.....only things he will eat are sausages, HM chicken pie, Meatballs and spaghetti and fish fingers:o. Having said that he has come a long way....there were times when he only ate about 4 things in total, same meals everyday.
need to get some washing done today too and some baking.
DH making pizza for tea later.
    Have good days all
