I definately think long hot baths are a DFW girls best friend. A lovely cheap way to treat yourself :)

    OH parents - £9000/£0 paid

    Mortgage - £125,000/£0 overpayments
  • Got me thinking of DFWs to spend mytime:
    *playing with my children

*chatting with my DH, actually asking how his day has been

*visiting my aunt (FREE tea, cake & worldly advice)

    *walking my dog for miles

*sitting in the garden watching my chickens

*reading the piles of books my BF has given me

*finally watching those Desperate Housewife episodes i sky plussed

*e mailing some old good friends

    *painting my nails

*subscribing to many of your diaries!!!

Really, the list is endless, no need to spend money i have not got or sit feeling sorry for myself about nothing. :)

Aw we all have carp days. Take this morning for instance, its payday and so I ingeneously transferred my entire salary into the Halifax for a free fiver (yes v. sad I know) and then immediately onwards to Santander to meet the Ts and Cs of a free £150 offer .... however having failed to read the small print it seems they're incapable of transferring anything any faster than a snail and it will take four days to electronically do anything which is a mahoosive pain int eh aris and means that unless I venture into the civilised world in search of a cash point or a co-operative Post Office counter clerk I'm stuck with £28 in the current account from which my bills exit and a whoppping tenner in my wallet with £28 of activities for the DDs to fork out for before ny money reaches anywhere even vaguely useful. I have cash I just can't get to it which is v.v.v. annoying especially since I don't have a cheque book so can't even pay bills that way. Somedays I'm such an airhead! Still its done, I can't change it, I can do something about it.... and in more eek worthy news its now five past 7 and I have a little under 30 minutes to kick the DDs out of bed, sort the dogs, cats and chickens, hang out the laundry, get the next load on , grab a shower and leave for work.... I guess I'm going to be late again.

  • Oh Moo,
You poor thing, hope you get the money sorted, it cr*p when a plan does not go as you think.

Your morning made me smile as i could have wrote exactly the same (but i work nights so no fear of being late for work! ) I make sure everyone is fed & watered and always end up pouring half a cup of cold tea down the drain before i leave.

I popped in to see my aunt after the school run, had a HOT cup of tea there :D

Need to go and take the dog for a long walk, try to wear him out as i will nap this afternoon cos of work tonight. Will make Chilli for tea as that will also be ok to reheat later for DH. He is working away but comes home to be with the DC when i work, we literaaly pass in the doorway though.

Hi Mummychicken, what dog have you got? does he /she get on with the chickens? On Sunday we were clearing the horse poop from the fields and dogs always come with and it was so funny the chickens (3) come running over and see what we are doing. In the beginning my dogs wanted to attack the chickens and now I shout really loudly and they keep their distance but it was so funny - one of my horses doesnt like the dogs so I was like a referee with shovel in hand - chasing horse of dog - dog off chicken - trying to keep chickens off wheelbarrow - anyway was good to be out in the Sun with all my favourite animals. :D

I have claimed my first £5 off my survey and got my first payment of £30 off Quidco today so feeling rich lol. Going to put it straight over to MBNA card though.

Anyway this is starting to sound all me me me lol - I hope you have a good day xx
  • Hi Lam
He is a golden retreiver, 14 months so still at that bouncy stage!! He is far too interested in the chickens and tries to chase them whenever he can. I have him on a lead when they are out of their run, i do not think he would deliberately hurt them but he would try to chase them.

Well done on clearing some of your debt, it does feel good to chip away at it all. :T

  • Hi Brizzle.
Thanks for your support. Been a NSD as i have slept for most of the day due to my night shifts. Need to have a sort through DC wardrobes as they have came out of school with notes saying they need to wear red for Comic Relief on Fri, 50p to wear it, so that ok.

Bit annoyed as was going to throw a stir fry in wok for tea but have no sauce left, going to add masses of soy sauce, black pepper & garlic and hope for the best.

While rooting through freezer to find chicken to defrost found a pork joint i bought ages ago and forgot about, so that a bonus as will cook tomorrow with some roast veg. When did my life turn that boring that the highlight of my day was finding a piece of pork!! :o
