Do you wear your clothes more than once before wash?

I have noticed that I am washing and ironing my teenage daughter's clothes which I have never seen her wear! On investigation it turns out that she is trying things on, deciding she doesn't want to wear it, throws it straight on the floor, which then gets picked up and put in the laundry basket . Parents of teenagers beware!
Schoolboy error there - always inspect teens clothes before washing (or when you pick them up) as they NEVER put anything away and do try on 23 things each time they get dressed!
I wash shirts, tops and underwear after one wear, but trousers, skirts, dresses, cardigans or tops that aren't next to the skin usually go a few wears unless there is an obvious mark or they smell smoky or sweaty.
Towels every few days, beds every couple of weeks.
(My in laws are guilty of hardly EVER changing their sheets, I had to buy them new ones recently to get them to do it!)
As others have said, its no bother to wash in a machine, but getting stuff dry can sometimes be a pain in winter. Not everything can be tumble dried and there's only so much wet washing I can stand hanging about. And I don't like tons of ironing either!0 -

Chucking things into the machine takes seconds, it's the endless IRONING that would depress me. Do all the one-day peeps iron everything???
I don't iron anything I don't have to. Clothes are dried on hangers and most of them pass muster without any contact with an iron.:D
Big things like Duvet covers are dried on the line completely spread out as taut as I can make it and the wind around here batters the creases out to an acceptable level for me.
I have to dust my iron... :rotfl:Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

I must say, I have started being more picky about my tops this week, I have thrown every one of them into the wash after one wear! Maybe it's been milder, I don't know. In summer I usually wash tops after one wear. Mind you, I sweat quite a bit (v. annoying), but I walk faster than most people and carry shopping etc rather than go by car. I don't sweat if I'm standing/sitting around or walking very slowly. Does anyone else find this happening to them?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I just know that I lead an active life so I think it must make some heat and sweat and smelliness. I don't have the greatest sense of smell so I err on the side of caution.
We don't have central heating so when I'm in the shops, work, or other people's homes I always feel really hot and bothered. Plus I've started to have hot flushes...!
Sometimes my hubby absolutely stinks but he can't smell it, and I worry that I'm the same, so if in doubt I sling it in the washer. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

Agree! But washing is not free - think of all the expensive energy and water wasted!
Clean undies every day, tops every two days - unless dropped something on it, bedding definitely once a week.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

As we can only afford minimal school uniforms (don't get me started on VAT being charged on this ) tops get washed once a week & both have 2 pairs of trousers. DH has a clean polo shirt every day but one pair of trousers per shift (4 days). Works in a clean environment (medical). The rest just as and when dirty.
Underwear is clean every day
