Thanks ladies :o They aren't that difficult to make at all, mostly just knitting, no purling, and a bit of decreasing. The book I've got is really clear and I've taught myself using that.

Emsbet, those bootees are very cute. Can you do purl stitch too? If so you could easily knit a cardigan. i a pattern for one that is 90% knit with a little bit of rib (knit one, purl one) and is in lovely fluffy wool. I've knitted 2 cardigans and a blanket so far and I'm close to finishing a third cardigan. I love knitting but my mum is doing some too and MIL has been crocheting so I'd best stop now as baby is due in april so won't need that many cardigans and has loads already! I'm also doing a couple of cross stitch pictures to hang on the nursery wall, the small one is finished but I have a big one that is only a quarter done. I'd best get cracking with it as I only have 8 weeks to go!

I haven't got that far with my book yet Lisa :o I think the hat pattern in my book has purling in it so that's my next challenge :)
I think I'm going to try knit some blankets too later on as we will be going into winter when this little one is due. Just need to find an easy pattern as I don't think there is one in my book.

    Morning ladies :)

Emsbet, I have a simple pattern for a blanket, I could scan it and send to you if you want? It's knitted all in one piece, garter stitch borders (all knitting) and then stocking stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl) squares. Uses about 4 balls of wool for pram size. I made it for my nephew with a purple/white mixed wool:

need to review my wool stocks and decide what to make for my baby now! :D

Oooo! Yes please littlemoog, if it's not too much trouble, it looks fab. I take it that's your nephew? Super cute :)
I've just remembered I also have a pattern Rebekah posted for a papoose. May have to tackle that one at some point too :)

Not sure when I'm going to get round to knitting all these things though :rotfl:
